Edited by: Irdia Freelancer on 26/12/2009 09:54:40 eg run lvl 4 missions. 14 day char with some isk can run lvl 4's quite well. - drone int 4 - sentry drone 3 - battleship 2 - sentry drone rigs - LAR - 297 dps
With the above a domi can run most lvl 4's if you manage your agro and know your missions. If you dont know your missions then it might cost you your ship. If you dont know how to manage your agro, it might cost you your ship. Better to over-tank if not sure of the situation than under-tank.
For drones heavies have advantage of slightly more dps than sentries when get to T2. Drawback is there are no damage rigs for them, plus they tend to do less damage with their higher dps. The problem is distance. Sentries tend to shoot every 4 secs while a heavy drone needs to move. 38km orbit and the sentry drone likely to get off about 9 shots more while the heavy is closing. Changing targets and the sentry drone generally select the next target in 4 secs while the heavy needs to close taking a long time. Missions like WC4 the sentry drones can shoot without being targeted which the heavies cannot. Drawback of sentries is they wont move so need to either stop by the drones or go back to collect afterwards.

ok....
this is just about the standard beginner suggestion.... albeit slightly changed to allow 4 350mm railguns at the expense of not (quite) being able to permanently run both repairers.
On defence: If you know the mission only deals 2 types of damage, fit 4 hardeners (2 of each) over the eanm. The damage control is useful overall for those moments you make a mistake and need the extra hull resistance.
For easier missions you can swap a hardener for a magnetic field stabilizer for extra dps, which in turn also improves your defence by quicker elimination of incoming damage :)
On DPS: The railguns of course help with dps at range but aren't completely horrible vs close range battleships if you align away from them. Swap them for blasters if you know everything is going to be at close range before you can do much.
Drone wise you want sentries to shoot at long range, heavies for close range bs and med/lights for all the frigs and cruisers.
On rigs: The ACR allows you to easily fit the 4x 350mm railguns, if you want true perma tanking swap the acr for another ccc. You may also want an afterburner, in which case you are going to have to lower the guns mounted to 250 duals. You can then change the acr for another CCC or something else. When you get more cap skills and or familiarity with the missions you can swap out ccc for aux nanobots etc since you will not need to perma run the 2 lar constantly.
blah blah wall of text ~

My advice: do not use 2 reps.

main tip for domi:
get cap skills to 5 asap
if you want any fits, you should really use eve-sheet or something to show us your skills so we can make a decent domi for ya.
Tanking is a cap matter once you can fit t2 tank (make sure you can use t2 hardeners too), damage you can pull entirely off your drones (domi doesn't become a quick mission runner until you get really high spec anyway and even then, not too fast), so once you can tank you can train into drone damage..
basically: -cap skills lvl 5 -mechanic 5 -hull upgrades 5 -repair systems 4-5 -drones 5 -scout drones 5 -drone interfacing 3-5 -gallente bs 3-5
then start learning for either sentry drones II with range skill 5, or, start learning for t2 heavies
And whatever you do, never leave station without at least 5 t2 light drones. They will save your ships more often than any repper or booster. All the above is prolly crap
