Edited by: Abysmal Failure on 31/12/2009 03:50:45 I am planning on doing some deep 0.0 ratting in angel space. I have ratted in 0.0 quite a bit, always in a Domi, but never against angels.
I want to stay mobile, due to the heavy reds that frequent the area I rat in.
Here is my current set up, if I could get some opinions as to whether the tank will be sufficient, I am not worried about DPS (over 7 mil sp in drones)
T2 Heavy Ion Blaster x 3 Cloak Salvager
10mn T2 MWD 4x T2 Cap
MARII 2 x T2 Exp Hard T2 DC T2 Adaptive Nano
It's a very tight fit, but its cap stable, with max speed of 1450 m/s. The resists are 88% Kinetic 84% Explosive
My plan is to MWD and orbit at 4k meters at roughly 800 to 900 m/s. I want to be close to the target so that I can salvage quickly and recall my drones quickly as well if a red shows up.
is my tank sufficient?
What drones should I use? I know Berserkers are said to be the best, but is there that much difference between them and Ogres?
Any additional recommendations?
Thanks

Why are you ratting in a place where reds frequent? Thats problem #1...

Tank looks fine. Moving between systems with red presence will likely get you killed though.
Maybe consider a web. If spare cpu fit a cap battery as they give a lot of regen.

Use Beserkers for Angels.
Fit Minmatar guns as you can use better damage types.
Rigs?

Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel???
Angel ratting with Ishtar is passive shield tank with a Large peroxide battery and some speed/agility/pds in the low slots. Use med autocannons for range and fitting. Do it :)

Guns bad - fit some RR to rep your drones if you're far into hostile space , and a link augmentor or two so you can be orbiting far off beacon and still be able to hit the rats with your drones. Even with the ishtar bonus extra range is very useful since then you can be where they don't expect you to be. Perhaps a neut for ceptors
Put on auxillary thruster rig, and a polycarbon rig. Speed and agility are going to be essential for surviving in red space.
Use beserkers or bouncers since the angels are the most vulnerable to that dmg type. Sentries with link augmentors would give you a pretty long stand off range, and range will give you some time to get out when the reds warp to you. Beserkers are also the fastest heavy drone which will give you some advantages over ogres given what you're doing.

Setup is fine. You'll want to use Berserkers for sure. The 1 MAR will do just fine, although you have to shut off your MWD once your in your desired orbit
