For those that haven't perused the forums or the Crime and Punishment section, please be aware that there is a Non CCP-sanctioned tournament starting in 7 days time called Hulkaggeddon. There will be large prizes for whoever destroys the most Hulks in Eve, high sec or low sec. If you don't wish to risk having your 200 mil Isk ship destroyed and cannot afford to replace it, I suggest you dock it and run missions/mine in a cheaper ship for a few weeks. It is of course, up to you if you want to risk it.
This isnt a "trolling" post, more of a friendly heads-up to those capsuleers who own Exhumers who aren't aware of what is happening in January. Not every player reads the forums.

all those miners gonna get rich :P stock up on ore...park your hulk during the event..
the prices of ore will rise and the miners will sell with profit..after the event end they will again undock and go about their business :D
for those dumb enough to go out and mine.....o well cant save them all.

That would only be true if mining produced the majority of minerals.

Exactly. They should try something new for a change and shut down Motsu or some other mission hub by alpha'ing any BS that dares to undock in a mission fit. At least that would have an actual impact on the market. I mean, ganking Hulks is like so 2007.

I like what you say but it will never happen.
Even a mission fit BS might shoot back. And might even get lucky and take a ship or two to the grave with it.
These chicken ****s would never dare try to gank something with a gun on it. That's just not the kind of people they are.

Only difference between this and Goons Jihad is they are giving out prizes. Maybe Goons gave out prizes within the alliance, dunno. People should be more original, and not copy something what others have done in the past.

Those evil bastards. I bet they are all 12 and just looking to kill some helpless people because they were bullied on at skool. Why would anyone think of doing a competition where you get prizes for other peoples suffering. I tell you what, anyone disturbs my mining during this Hulkegedon thing will be getting a bounty on their heads, see how they like that!
To be honest I think the best thing we could do is mine in big groups together and then if they do come we can **** them over together.

One guess is that someone finally is making Exhumers and is looking for some fast profits off a lot of sales... Throw an "event" like this and see how much you can sell. Zip risk, you get goofs do the work and catch the blame, while you rake in profits.

I think the motivation was to make people aware of the insurance problem in regard to suicides (BS insurance payout - insurance cost >= BS cost). Or maybe that was a different contest...

I have a lot of miner friends who are fully aware of this event and as such have stockpiled an extremely large amount of ore. The market channel is fully aware, and the amount of tinfoil hat theories that are abound did make me wonder if it's more than just a gankathon, some sort of market control thingy but then I don't tend to do 'theories'.
I am a miner too but I tend to do many things, mining's just like fishing for me, do it when I need to relax. I also have a large amount of ore stockpiled but it was nout to do with Hulkageddon, it was actually when I first started playing, didn't know what to do with it all Now I just pour out drones and mining lasers...ooooo I may make extra money from this event *giggles*
By the way I'm selling lots of Bantams, they're good lil mining ships |
