Being a female in this game is not an easy en devour. On one hand, you do feel lonely because of your gender, and it's hard to communicate or make friends without people figuring it out that you're female.
One thing I hate, is the feeling that women should hide their gender because of the attention it gives them. That's ridiculous - if people want to fawn over women, or give them things or act a fool in that regard - why is the woman always blamed and berated? In some cases, yes, someone may be using that to their advantage but in this day and age it is almost just the assumption. Even other females will make snide catty remarks at another female. Which is ridiculous.
If a girl wants to come on here and ask for other females - so be it. Who cares. There's tons of women who play eve and probably more hiding because of the misogynistic bullshit and hate that we get. Just for being female.
Also, there's all this talk about how if a women mentions her gender she automatically must think she's better than other people. What the **** weird paranoid conclusion is that? Personally I have never EVER thought I was a better player or more important than ANYONE in eve because of my gender. In fact, I'm embarrassed that people even think or assume that about anyone.
I don't think anyone should have to hide who they are, regardless of being gay, trans, female, male or extremely unintelligent - and obviously some people in eve agree with me in one aspect.
"Attention *****" is an overused statement that almost always is being misused. Anyone posting a thread asking ANY QUESTION, is wanting attention to their question. Anyone who makes content regarding eve, WANTS THAT CONTENT TO BE SEEN. Attention whores, are people who will stop at nothing for you to pay attention to them regardless of what they are doing. Negative or positive. There are many more MALES in eve online who will stop at absolutely nothing for even a moment of attention from anyone. Far much less than myself or other females that get talked **** about on a daily/weekly basis.
Get over yourself - and grow up. This misogynistic and hate behavior outside of the game, or even in game for that matter, should not be tolerated.
