Before you berate me... I have searched for this (in and out of eveonline), but there is so much unrelated stuff to sort through I felt it deserved a new thread.
I'm looking for a simple matrix chart with all ships along one axis, and attributes and fitting requirements along the other axis.(This could be a spreadsheet chart or a functional database)
I have to believe someone has this, but it's not an easy thing to find. Google brings up too many commercial sites and blogs.
Searching in EVE or on the web for "ships chart" brings up nice images showing what all the ships look like and how they compare by size, but unfortunately nothing easy to find to help players choose a ship on functionality, fitting, strength and cost.
IÆve been away from EVE for a while, but when I was playing a year ago, I remember being able to compare a couple items side by side in the in-game info dialog, but canÆt remember how to do it.
However even that was only slightly helpful. A spreadsheet would be much better. A working database browser would be better!
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Ed: At least, in response to the "can't remember how to do it". As for comparing ships side by side... best bet is EFT. :)

or is it the "hold down "shift" and press show info to get it to open in a new window" part you don't remember

That was it!
An importiant note to those searching for the same information, once you have the compare window open, you can add any ship to the matrix by opening it's info window and doing the same thing
That way your not limited to just the variants of a single ship type

only problem is that you can't add ships to the compare list if that ship doesn't have any variations... like the tier 2 BCs or tier 3 BSs... or any of the capital ships.
