Haha. You lost your titans. And your Goon members have the nerve to complain that it wasn't a fight?!?!?!
It was a better fight than disbanding BOB I assure you -- and there was FRAPS goodness. Yea I just fap'd to it. Not even gonna lie.

If CCP agreed to let me play for free then I would agree to Beta test their crappy code and fix their completely broken QA testing process that allowed a piece of **** like Dominion be released in the first place.
There "Crappy" QA testing is crappy because people like you cannot get your own e-peen out of your ass and log in to test new code. There were many Tests pre-dominion on the test server. Its sorta hard to do those tests when there are only a handful people log in.

There are many ways to create the number of simultaneous connections needed. CCP decided instead to not spend the money on testing and instead pursued a failed policy of relying on Volunteers to do their testing for them.

SOT fail cascaded because it had no leadership.
1. For first couple weeks of invasion 99% of SOT members were keen and excited about fighting, but no leadership, despite having some great FCs, meant barely any ops and eventually players and corps got fed up with lack of anything at all. 2. 99% of members didn't really give a sh*t about Hurley, I didn't because I never once saw him in any fleet, or ever see him talk in chat, ever.

I understand the frustration this kind of thing causes. And even somewhat sympathise with those it affects (been there, done that). But there simply isn't sufficient incentive to entice players to log into a test server. In ANY game. If they want people to log in to test, they should hire paid testers. Or at the very least, provide sufficient reason for paying subscribers to do it (paying subscribers simply don't want to bother with testing something they're paying a subscription for without some incentive to make it worth their trouble).
Perhaps one way would be to offer free live play in exchange for testing time. Like a 50/50 system. Test for a day, get a free day of live play. And in times of mass tester need, implement some sort of mechanically forced "cease fire" against space those testers hold on the live server, where nothing in their space can be attacked while they're logged into the test server. That way, theres no worry about anyone "unfairly taking advantage" because no one, or too few, are around to defend.

None of the features released in dominion 1.00 were the same as they were in sisi. Because players knew that things tried in sisi were going to be changed in the dominion release, there was no reason to test things in sisi.
Oh wait some of the features from sisi were included in dominion; sbus, tcus and outposts that were vulnerable to attack when they were "invulnerable".
The problem wasnt the lack of people willing to test; It was the rubbish code we were being asked to test, and the lack of acknowledgement of feedback to those of us who did test sisi out.
Anyway back to OP topic;
hahahahahahah will x up again - just to be in a fleet where dbrb shuts the hell up.

if the tables were turned we would be crowing about your hilarious losses, and you would be accusing us of this and that and petitioning your losses. The schadenfreude is strong, as always, but I don't see how anyone can defend the status quo from a game design perspective. I wasn't accusing IT of exploiting; I was saying that with no hope on the horizon of dynamic node reinforcement that doesn't require downtime, I really don't see how else CCP could fix the problem. The only way a system like Y-2 could be defended would be if it was reinforced; the only way it could have been reinforced is if IT voluntarily petitioned it in advance. As important as the first day is under the new sovereignty mechanics it should be obvious that something needs another look here. As much as both sides here love to see the other get a broomstick snapped off in the ass, you have to be ******ed to look at the status quo and believe that this is how the game should play out. I'm sure you've got a few people in your alliance who'd have preferred a fight where the targets shot back, though they're probably not your designated forum warriors.
Alternatively CCP could just get rid of the daily downtime, and we could sov4 every vulnerable system with 600 docked afk trial accounts.

This is what CCP calls their issue in the news.
"their fleet was disarrayed by a spatial distortion"...Nice workaround. Now perhaps a functioning code to fix that "Spatial distortion"?
Then we can all play the game again like it is advertised. At the end of the day everybody will end up on the sucky side of this fail one day. "comrades in arms know the meaning of true friendship". |

You're right, it was CCP that forced the FC to decide that was the best time to jump in. It was CCP that decided the best course of action was to let IT build up steadily throughout the day rather than trying to make a beachhead. There's NO WAY that what happened to the NC twice in a row would EVER happen to them, right?

Poor you
How do you 'slowly build your forces up' over the day in a system where you can't dock at the station and you have no friendly POSes to shelter in? You can do logoff stuff I guess but you still have to bring all those people in at the same time one way or another. --------------------------------------------------------------

I think it was Sun Tzu who said 'giveth awayeth the tactical advantage by ****ing upeth and failingz0r badly at pvp, and thou hast not the tactical advantage anymore - deal with it'. It was either Sun Tzu, Viper or Mr Miyagi, I can't remember which.
You screwed up on so many levels last night I'm amazed you have the balls to whine.
- Bragging wildly in advance of the fight about how hard you were going to own - The excruciating screw up in the handover of the system - Failing to retain numbers in system despite having hours to prepare - The genius FC who made the call to 'jump' despite huge amounts of evidence about what would happen
You got what you deserved, and Goons have had ludicrous amounts of luck with this kind of lag before. Now, however, you're just the recipients of the biggest pasting in the history of Eve. Sorry, daniel-san :(
