Strange ... On this video, the pilot, even with background blinking colors, doesn t seem to suffer from any lag while 'turkey shooting' the black screen fleet .
CCP keep answering to petitions that the lag was the same for everyone ... Come on CCP ...
That is because the only case when you get this new Dominion lag is if you try to jump into another system, onto a grid that already has "too many" ships on it. It was not very smart to try to pile 700+ ships into same grid at once. Had you jumped with, say, 100 ships at a time, each warping off the grid to another before the next batch (or to multiple cynos on multiple grids, no more than 100-200 ships per cyno) you would have been fine.
Once you are in the system, grid loads work just fine. IT was already in the system, they loaded your jump-in grid just fine.
I'm told someone tried to tell you this. Your FC ignored it. Yay.
You do realise 100 razor jumped thru a gate onto an empty grid and they all black screened and died aswell right?

Before or after the massive ball seized up? I'd guess "after". Systems all over EVE were reporting jump lag after the massive cyno pile blackscreened...
My guess is, the root cause is a some kind of an inter-node bottleneck when transmitting data between separate SOL nodes when ships jump from system to system. Basically, the "queue" to bring in new ships to the system is already log-jammed at that point and every new ship jumping into system after that gets hosed.
I have been in numerous large fights post-Dominion and the only time everything works on jump-in to a system full of people is when the target grid is empty and the number of ships bridging/jumping in to the grid is manageable. Once jumped in (or if already in system), everything works just the same as pre-dominion.

Nice Fraps. It reveals just how very different our experience of that grid was. IT could have bum rushed us the moment we jumped in and gotten even more kills, saving us the over one hour waiting period hoping that the remainder of our fleet would report actually being in system before we tried to attack the TCU.
Looks like you could:
1) See other ships on the grid 2) Lock other ships 3) Fire on other ships, even without manually cycling guns
Awesome. Congrats on killing a whole lot of expensive hardware that couldn't fight back. |

Nice quality! Looks to be an epic fight
Edit: Um did the hostiles even shoot back at all?
Hard to shoot back when half had been logged off for awhile *most well over 15min before they died*
the other half, myself included that actually loaded eventually but could barely activate a mod jumped out before IT caps arrived on grid, only to get stuck in space cloaked in limbo for over an hour waiting, i litterally walked away from my PC went to our garage played 4 rounds of pool with my brother and in between games with him i checked my PC to see if i was in mn5 yet and nope, not yet, till an hour later...
GG CCP and your bugged game mechanics that cost the ships of many brave pilots that night.
interestingly after this event i have seen 2 extremely odd thing happen as a result of it.
#1 players that jumped just as i did and were stuck jumping and logged off ended up in mn5 in space stuck and never disappeared even though they were not logged in for well over 5 hours by the time i went to bed last night
#2 at least one of our pilots that got blown up while logged, logged back in into space in y-2 in his carrier with half the mods destroyed 1% structure, no armor and full shields and there was a killmail generated for his ship even though it apparently survived somehow! very very strange glich CCP!

It was not very smart to try to pile 700+ ships into same grid in another system at once. Had you jumped with, say, 100 ships at a time, each warping off the grid to another before the next batch (or to multiple cynos on multiple grids, no more than 100-200 ships per cyno) you would have been fine. This is, of course, assuming the hostiles do not stack "too many" ships to your entry grid until you get to the system. Deep safes are a good tool against this - you got at least that bit right.
Once you are in the system, grid loads work just fine. IT was already in the system, they loaded your jump-in grid just fine.
I'm told someone tried to tell you this. Your FC ignored it. Yay.
Unhappily it is not completely true, in Factional Warfare fighting a small 40 Bs vs 40 Bs fleet. Even if you are in system for some time, the ships warping to the gate/station/planet where other 40 ships are sitting, the incoming ships usually will lag to death while the sitting ships wont.
So if you want winning on the lag world of Dominion, or even before, wait for they warp/jump to you.

WOW.. really ccp, I'm on nietheir side here, but the fact that their seemed to be hardly any lag for the attacking party while the other side just got black screened, I'm simply amazed.
If I was in that fight I'd be ****ed, IT guy not cycling his gunns, chating with buddies on and off, didnt seem to have hardly any issuse with target locking. For the most part the gunns turned off a cycle or 2 after target was downed. I've been in massive cap fights, and needless to say not once was I ever been able to play with that much ease, even from the attacking point of view.
PL maybe next time you'll think twice about trying to flood a unsupported node, oh wait you'd need a cap fleet to do that with first. GJ IT you won the turkey shoot, reguardless of how it went down killing that many titans in one fight just earned you a place in the books of eve history... PL now ownes the worst mistake in eve history removing razors title for the 5 mothership LOL fail.

I didn't think there would ever be a bigger welp moment in eve till now take. Gotta say leave it to the elite pvper's to take the new title. Im pretty sure they were betting on crashing the node and getting in when it rebooted. They probably figured hey its not reinforced we can hop in crash the node and log in before it does and take over the system. But thats just my 2iskies i wouldnt doubt it to think that was there motive the entire time.
