I just started playing your little game, and it is pretty neat. I have been paying for my son's account for a few years now, but he just got in major, major trouble and he wont be playing for at least six months. Since I have paid it up for quite some time to come, I thought I would start playing it myself so I don't waste my already entered codes.
Now, my question is-why would anyone pay for the clone upgrade? I mean it doesn't even do anything at all except take your isk. Why has the price of the clone gone down so much since I started playing the game?
The price for the clone is now down by 65% or so since I have been playing. Why do they even try to sell them? Is the cheaper price I am being offered them trying to lure me in? Since I started mining in an orange system, I have been getting killed by some weirdos. I don't even understand why. why would you try to protect asteroids since they come back every day. The orange systems have much better ore, but some people are trying to protect them. I have lost 9 covetors and 6 pods this week alone out there. Why would you protect asteroids since they come back?

Edited by: Serge Bastana on 04/01/2010 12:06:38 If you take a look at the clone upgrade, it gives you an amount of skill points that each level of clone upgrade will hold. If you are podded without a clone with enough SP to hold your current total of skill points then you will lose a certain amount, costing you training time.
It does get more expensive the more SPs you gain, but training time is not something that you can just buy back, and it could result in you losing access to some of the ships you fly if you lose a rank in the associated skill.
Maybe you should ask your son why he bothers upgrading his clone ------------------------------------------------ You either need a punch up the throat or a good shag.
Nobody round here is offering the second one therefore your choices are limited! |

I have gotten a bunch of notifications about skill point losses in Gallente Carrier V, Gallente battleship V, Advance weapon upgrades and about 6 different ones. SOmetimes it picks the same skill when It says I lost points, but theres been no problems flying the covetor so again it really doesnt matter if I have them or not. Thanks for the speedy reply though. This game is really hard to understand when you are new like me. TYVM

Edited by: Serpents smile on 04/01/2010 12:15:37 Don't call our game 'little'.
If you don't upgrade your medical clones and you get pod killed you lose a big chunk of your higest trained skill (or something like that) which means you can start learning the lost points of that skill again.
Orange systems..... That is low sec. 0.4 -0.1. Pirates live there. Gankers live there. Pvp carebears live there. If you do not belong to their corp or alliance, you are fair game. That is why they shoot you, because they can. If you must mine, mine at all, either join a corp with access to low sec or sec see if you can get some contact with someone from CVA. They live in Providence and have a NRDS policy (not red dun shoot it), most of the time. Doesn't mean you won't get shot at.
And its not about astroids its about territory they (think they) claim. Or maybe think you're a spy.
Edit:
OMG

I hope you get those skills back up before your son gets back. He might be slightly upset when he sees that.

Why would you even want to fly the bigger ships? The carrier can not ever even leave the system it is in-I tried and the gate doesnt let me jump through. As for the battleships, they cannot mine nearly as much as the covetor so why would anyone ever use one except for those missions that you get from people at the station. And I never even get anything from the missions even though it says I completed them.
Sorry I called your game little as well. I guess really it is pretty big and theres always a few thousand people on. I just meant in comparison to like WoW with millions of users. My apologies.

I told him if he was home past 10 O'clock one more time I would take his access away and at age 16 he has no business out that late. And he was almost 20 minutes late this time-so he gets punished for one month of no eve.
But as to getting the skill points back, where do you buy them? Since I started playing this game I have lost about 9 or so million skill points but never see them for sale. How much isk is 9 million skill points going to cost me? He was mad enough when I lost the thanatos. (thing sucked for mining anyway). I would hate to do anything to mess up his account so I will buy the points I lost if it is really some important thing for the account.

wait, are you using his developed character to ruin his stats, killboard, wallet, and drop his skill points?
since you are not upgrading the clone and have been podded 6 times... he should have lost 50% of his skill points by now. you did it for the lulz?
95% you are a troll, but I will bite just in case:
- Upgrading your clone is the very first thing you need to do after having been podded. Just before you undock again, press the medical icon and upgrade it. Check your current skill points and choose the next clone that covers them all.
- Orange systems are lowsec. Never jump there when in a mining barge or industrial ship unless you have a scout - a friend in a frigate or cov ops, or yourself in an alt account - alternatively you can open the starmap, statistics, and check number of killed escaped pods for latest hour. Bigger the dot, more dangerous that system is.
- Lowsec - orange systems - in fact are red - mining there is the sux, the true ISK is being made in 0.0 or wormholes. You better stay in highsec for safe mining and you will do more ISK than you would in lowsec.

I have been playing with this guy off and on since I started eve. Check out our corp histories 0.o
Last time I talked to him on TS he said he was peace out for a month or so. Will email him to confirm/deny. he is primarily gallente pilot so :v possibly legit. Will post when I get return email. If true kids gonna have a coronary.
To OP: Stop playing this account now. Do not do another thing with it. You CANNOT BUY SKILL POINTS and you claim to have lost 11 M Sp's (skill points) and it will take likely around a year to recover this loss. SP's are gained at a constant rate. If you feel need to play eve, just make a BRAND NEW CHARACTER and go through the tutorials. Each account can have maximum 3 characters use open slot. You have basically ruined this character completely already. (if **** is even true/notroll) If I am posting in a troll thred, I will personally come pod you myself

u've lost ur son a year or so of work
http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Skills_guide
nothing u can do other than train the skills up again for a year will bring them back
also ppl use al those other ships for combat of course
not everyone wants to just sit and mine all the time
the pirates arent trying to "protect" the asteroids, they just wan to kill u
...and are probably using battleships to do it

I might be missing something here, but isn't THIS rather thorough proof as to the OP's trollage?
However, I don't know what this 1/10 -2/10 crap is about. As far as posts go, this one is about par for the course.

Have you been playing mini golf? I don't think I've seen many troll posts less convincing than this one. If, miraculously, it's not a troll, my faith in humanity will finally collapse in on itself and begin sucking in the rest of my emotions, leaving only a permanent abyss of cynicism.

believe it or not: not everyone is an EVE Online meista...
as everybody knows, this game is not much self-explanatory. noobs commit these mistakes and worse ones everyday. a noob controlling a pro account is very, very dangerous as we are seing

Ya, forget grounding him next time: the threat of podding without a clone should keep him in line.

I got email back from kid whose account this is, he confirmed that he is IN FACT GROUNDED FROM EVE and that his DAD DOES HAVE HIS PASSWORD and has "watched him play" and "knows a little bit about the game"
I didn't tell him why I asked and did not mention this thread. I can barely wait till he finds out
