Edited by: Nemesis Factor on 07/01/2010 06:07:55 I tend to like a good bit of the in-game music that comes with Eve, but it does kind of get a little boring. I'll usually only listen to the gate activation music during missions and otherwise mute the in-game and play something else. Just curious what other Eve players listen to while playing. Nothing too specific, just genres and any examples you care to share.
For me, Techno-Industrial fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the game. Very few of the in game tracks are of this genre (except for about half of the battle tracks), but I think it fits quite nicely and would benefit from having a few more tracks in the genre.
For those of you unfamiliar with the genre, one of my Favorite artists is Jerry Berlongieri. Hes done soundtracks for a few games including the Descent series. A couple examples I think fit well with the game are this and this. I think the game's atmosphere could be greatly enhanced with similar sounds and songs.
What do you guys think would enhance the game, music-wise?
Edit: The rest of the Descent 3 soundtrack can be found here. ~/~ Sultan of Buruni |

I use an outofgame player to listen to EVE Radio. That beats static playlists :)

I play mostly ambient and occasionally classical internet radio. It stops me going insane listening to silence and also alerts me if my connection drops out.

I too use Winamp on the 2nd monitor for streaming or local tunez.
It's too late to prevent me from going crazy , but a music stream can help to keep my connection more responsive as the EVE client seems to cache things and do as much stuff locally as possible.
I haven't gone as far as sniffing packets or anything, but, right now I'm docked and there is very, very little network activity coming from the client.

I use an out of game player that mostly is loaded with Trans Siberian Orchestra on shuffle repeat. If I get tired of that, I'll throw on a movie soundtrack like Star Wars, Braveheart or Avatar.

Mostly I listen Audiomachine, X-Ray Dog, Immediate Music, Epic score, Two Steps from Hell and etc. Basically it's a trailer music genre, which gives kinda "Epic" feeling to game non-stop (also a lot of sad moments, because some tracks tend to be for moments, when everybody dies ). Anyway track list is huge (4000+ tracks) so it never gets boring.
