Edited by: Invelious on 08/01/2010 17:14:28 Some years back I set up a small and private program with some close friends to truly domesticate Slaver Hounds for the general public to be used as pets at home and not to oversee our slaves.
These beautiful creatures should live a more comfortable and relaxed life instead of constantly monitoring our slave communities.
If anyone is intrested in aquiring one of these beautiful creatures I have 15 available at no charge to any Amarrian willing to have one and not to be used to drive slaves. Only 1 slaver hound per person. A background check will be done to insure that the individual will not abuse or mistreat this wonderful animal.
p.s. If any slavers out there have any hounds they wish to have domesticated feel free to contact me, or if you no longer wish to take care of, I will purchase these creatures from you.

Not everything minmatar is dreadful. These slaver hounds are a beautiful specimen, and should be treated as such.

I used to have a slaver, his name was Luci. He was a great pet and real tame until he saw someone running to help someone who had fallen off a ladder. He... kind of killed them both.
I suggest anyone who gets a slaver hound raise them from birth. Apparently they get some interesting habits when they're trained in "restraining" escaping slaves... ------------------------------- The fox chases for her meal, but the rabbit runs for her life. |

Oh, I'd like one as well.
I've never owned a Slaver Hound nor a large enough number of slaves (just five for now to take care of my paperwork for the 24th Imperial Crusade offices and run errands to Amarr every now and then for some Caldari-originated commodities). You can check my background as well. I've taken well care of my own slaves and their own families, and I'm sure the children of my slaves would love to have a furry friend to play with them every now and then.
Ahem...I hope these Hounds are NOT violent as others are? Oh and please tell me now even if these Slaver Hounds are not suitable around children...
P.S. Might I remind you that sandwiches are quite different things compared to human lives, even to those of the Matari? So don't ask Kayla about me and my sandwiches. PLEASE!

people blame the animals for the jobs assigned them. Slaver Hounds are strong and noble beasts and I have a rather large collection from my previous employment.
May i ask where the origins of this stock came from? |

But I do hope they will not terrorize me associates in my corporation. They die enough as it is. But might I ask, the Gallentean Animal Rights Activists didn't put you up to this did they? Slaver hounds have a terrible but well earned reputation due to the manner they are bred and exploited for their abilities. Many hounds have a poor temperament due to the lack of veterinary care, bad breeding, poor conditions, lack of socialization and maltreatment common at Slave facilities.
Slaver hounds, when bred in a positive environment can be affectionate and loyal animals. As a hobby I have been breeding perfectly domesticated Slaver hounds for years, much to the dismay of some of my corpmates.

Honestly, if you try to breed their hunting instinct out of a Slaver hound you lose an essential part of the charm of this animal. Syrikos hound breeding has been a hobby of mine for years. They can become very loyal, affectionate and superb companions if you raise them correctly, being obedient and faithful friends and protectors. Although any syrikos hound that's intended to be used in public must have been bred from specimens that are not too aggressive.
But a proper syrikos hound is never a pet or truly domesticated. It's a predator at heart, and if you take the predator out of it then it's no longer the noble beast it once was. ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost. Edited by: Alica Wildfire on 09/01/2010 13:15:56 I love slaver hounds. They make a perfect ordeal for young warriors to prove themselves and if you roast them on over a hot carcoil fire their meat is delicious. You have a part of the strong taste of wild animal together with halve domesticated animals in it. The chewing is enjoyable, not too chewey and not too soft.
You can spice it with Sebiestor hot chili powder or with some of our matari herbals. Best served hot with some vodka or like I prefer it with a Matari plum fruit****tail, the only drink that is censored by IGS and is just the right tough stuff for a Matari warrior.
You should serve it with an apple in the mouth of it and parsley behind the ears. I do not like to eat something that is made to be eaten and that is waiting silently for the slaughter. I want to eat something that is trying to rip my throat out of my neck, that I have to stab with my knife and that will give me a serious bloodbath when I try to kill it. Aside a slaverhound every other meat is just fedo-flesh. It wants to live, it wants to fight. It is an enemy deserves to die and not a chumming up thing that praises the best parts of it's flesh to go off and shoot himself after that.
Alife their only purpose is to hunt, maim and kill Matari. This is the reason I buy all of them off Heimatar market (for a reasonable price) and serve them my guests at feasts.
There is no domesticated slaver hound. Never seen one. They all just want to kill us deep inside. So best we can do with them is eat them and take their power in us to turn it against those who breed these weapons against our race. -- FREEDOM, PUNK & AUTOCANNONS

Might be nice, but I think we've decided a cat might be more suitable for a pet at the abbey. Mum might like a doggy though, since she's recently remarried and stuff.

Pretty clueless for an Amarr, aren't you. The word "slaver" means to drool. The beast's name has nothing to do with keeping slaves. They were merely purposed for that duty, among many others.
For anyone interested in a fine bloodline, I run a breeding kennel in Agil.

Oh? I always liked to believe that our flavor would be superior. Especially on underdeveloped and malnourished Minmatar taste buds used only to refugee survival food rations.
Lucius Vindictus shrugs.

Thank you for correcting me, putting your petty insult aside. My assumptions about the name of the creature proved to be wrong, perhaps due to why I own them myself. I own a few small kennels of the creatures myself, though I rarely deal with them or the slaves they guard directly.

Actually before being used for security around facilities using slave labour they were merely known as "droolers" or Syrikos hounds. The term slaver hound is both a reference to their slobbering as well as a reference to their use in the slave trade. Heteronym humour is an established part of Amarrian culture. ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost. It's given freely and only grudgingly withdrawn. |

Invelious dear old friend, knowing you have been unable to fly in open skies lately, I however would be interested in one or two of these hounds. Whenever you are able to contract some of these fine animals out, and if you have any left to spare after getting around to those of course who have asked first, I would love to be placed on this list as well.
Fly safe friend.

I, personally, keep five in my hangars and home. They're well fed and well kept. The Republic security guards in the area love them as well. Very playful animals, when they aren't angered.
As others have said, they make fiercely loyal pets when trained properly, and even better theft deterrents. Its always nice to know my assets are in safe paws. *SPLUD* |
