I'm sure we've all had very poorly timed convo invites from friends/random people. It's very annoying and sometimes catastrophic. This would allow us to avoid these incidents. There would of course be an option in the esc menu to disable this option.

I'll support this, maybe an optional setting for AFK as well. How many times have you wandered off to grab something to eat or drink and come back to find a convo invite that ends up with you sat in an empty convo because the other person has left. ------------------------------------------------ You either need a punch up the throat or a good shag.
Nobody round here is offering the second one therefore your choices are limited! |

Edited by: VengeanceMK2 on 12/01/2010 15:31:06 Press ESC, choose Audio & Chat tab, there is an option under chat box auto reject invitations. Check on that you won't receive any convos from random people. To note though, if you check that option, you will not be allowed to join in fleets with others, so please uncheck and form a fleet before checking that option again. Thus, you won't be intervened by others while you are in a combat mode.

I must say I like the suggested options of not getting invites when in combat or afk rather than shutting it off completely. Too easy to forget to turn it back on.

The current Auto-Reject feature is way too all encompassing, and would become a huge pain in the ass if I had to turn it on and off every time I'm expecting combat. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Urge to troll... Rising.....
What would you recommend be the timing of this 'lock out' for chats?? Same as the 1 min cant dock/jump timer?? Linking it with GCC or Agro timer would be dumb as it would make it useless in 0.0 and WAY too long otherwise. Also, for the love of god have a option to turn it on/off in the settings...

Edited by: Mickey Simon on 13/01/2010 04:21:17 How do I ransom people in a private convo then? edit: Yes, you can use local, but there are situations where using local is not satisfactory. |

Why not expand this to a customizable "away message" like every modern chat client. Have it be conviniently placed in the UI so people can turn it on/off and change the text easily. Allow outgoing but not in-going (helps with ransoms and will be really nice for corporate leadership that want peace and quiet not nesc isolation) ---

An AFK/DND option would be nice. Not only would it stop people convo'ing you at inopportune moments, it would also be a useful way for corp and fleet buddies to see if you are around (with some indication in the chat window, like the user 'fading', or something similar).
It would need to be a fairly obvious toggle switch, say on the sidebar above where the launch button normally is, or something like that, so people can activate and deactivate it with one click.
I wholeheartedly endorse this idea or product.
