I had finished killing all the rats in my mission complex in dodixie and decided to take out the npc structures as well to see if anything would drop. I didn't want to waste any more torps so I parked my golem at 0 to the first one and let my smartbomb do the work while I went into the kitchen to make some hot pockets.
Long story short when I got back I was in a pod and I saw for a second or two another pilot warping away. my wreck and all my stuff was gone and there was also some concord in the area. I figured I had been suicided like they do with hulks but I had my tank running so I was surprised that they had killed me that fast cleaned up all the wrecks and got away in the few minutes I was away.
To my surprise though my loss mail said that concord had killed me instead. Is there some kind of exploit the guy warping out used that I haven't heard about or has concord just gone rouge on us mission runners?
Needless to say I have petitioned the loss as an exploit since concord had no reason to kill me.

Don't use smartbombs in high sec. I cruise up and you hit me on accident: say hello to Concord. Easy loot for me!

If you use smartbombs in highsec and hit any other person around you at all you will get concorded.

Oh ok so one of them mission salvaging bast**** got to close to me. Grrrrrr
Why should you even be able to get into my mission complex? I did the work that got the agent to give the mission. It should be private to me and my fleet members.

That is not how this game is designed or intended. Eve is intentionally built to not limit player interaction by artificial means. It's up to you to protect your turf. (Put your flame-suit on. Everyone from this point on will say "GB2WOW" or something along those lines.)

You fly a golem, trained for it, and never learned about smarbombs in highsec, let alone not to let them fire while you go afk?
Not buying it.

To steal your stuff. To shoot your ship. To salvage the wrecks you create. To mine the asteroids in some missions. … And, obviously, to make you CONCORDOKEN yourself, as you just noticed.
Plenty of reasons in other words. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Good point. I didn't even notice that. Yes.
OP: Stop clogging up the petition queue! It's not an exploit and CONCORD had plenty of reason to kill you. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

The scary bit is that he had a Golem?
He didn't know smart bombs are area affect? He didn't know that would mean anyone could be hit by it and that would mean Concord in Hi sec? He didn't know anyone could fly to his space if he was scanned? He has not heard of ninja salvagers?
That's what happens when you buy an account I suppose. I love the way this game will not allow you to buy your way out of ignorance.

You didn't read the message that popped up?
Should be a no brainer though that an non-targeted area effect weapon would get you a concord response if you hit a player or anything else on accident.
Plus you are in Dodixie, never seen a ninja salvager before?
I'm sliding towards the "not buying it" either.

Fun part is that even if no one is around, attacking some mission structures (including those little "beacons") seems to trigger concord response as well.

I just remembered that you can't activate a smartbomb near a structure, beacon or larger collidable structure. I'm not sure about asteroids.
But in any case, no brainer on this one.

Luckily for him he probably gets his golem back (minus what dropped) since i am pretty sure it isnt allowed to intentionally get within SB range to let concord kill him.
That said using SBs in high sec is just bad idea.

Those don't receive damage from smartbombs since ages. Smartbombs in missions are only an issue when another player comes in. Everything else in the mission is free to bomb. --------

OMG.... so you're the new owner of this character, ey? I mean the original furb would never make such a dumb assessment.
Its like saying flipping cans in high-sec. isn't allowed to intentionally get a kill right when the original owner flips his stuff back. Come on, use your head.

Considering i am still the original owner, thanks, i think.
However this isnt really about my opinion (which is that both are dumb, SB'ing in high sec and intentionally flying into them), it is just what I *think* that i read somewhere from GMs.
Although knowing GMs it probably depends quite a bit how fluffy the GM is and how his mood is.

Not sure wether this applies in your case, but...
Sent a petition a long time ago, asking wether it was a legal tactic to warp to a mission runner, cloak and wait for him to activate his smarties. The response I got was that it would be an exploit.
Now - with you gone and in the kitchen... Hard to argue that was what happened - don't think it would show up in any logs, so think you're up for an expensive lesson.

Original poster asks a simple, honest question. (Perhaps a noob question. But so what. No big deal.)
He is then immediately met with a dozen angry flamers who berate him and (ironically) call him a troll.
WTF...
