Originally by: Isospin If you get the loss in your combat log then you're going to lose a skill level. The change is to stop pilots from ejecting from T3's near destruction in order to get around the skill loss.
I guess we can see a drop in people flying T3 cruisers on Sisi then.
Shouldn't they encourage ejecting though as it is a massive bonus from the attacker if your victim ejects from a t3 ship.
Sort of yes, however there is something else you must consider. When you eject from a ship and it is very low in hp (say, 1/2 structure) it is more than likely then that that amount hp is less than the amount of HP the ship gained from your skills effecting it (mechanic, shield management, etc) so when you eject the HP it magically gained from you being in it is now... magically gone, and thus explodes. lasted.
Hmmm... This seems incorrect to me...
Does it work that way or does it work...
10% Hull bonus with your skills say... Say you then jump out when you have 10% Hull left. In your case or more or less around that it will blow up due to your skill loss.
OR
Does it work this, You have 10% Hull left and 10% Hull bonus. Say you have 100 Hull and your down to 10 HP on your Hull. That is a total of 90% damage done. You bail out and your ship doesnt explode... It merely takes that 10% away from the Hulls maximum available HP and you still have 90% damage done to your new hull total.or arguments sake, I know the numbers aren't correct however. You bail out at 10% remaining being 10HP. So no 10% bonus anymore and instead of being 0HP it is infact 9% Hull.
Anyone see where I am going or is my numbers to text so appalling noone can understand. I can't write maths in words, same with me not being able to explain any formulas in physics.

I think I see what you're gettin at but no
the bonus isnt removed from remaining HP its overall HP
so if you have a 10% bonus to 1000 HP you have 1100HP, if you eject with less than 100 left, ship goes boom.
and for the record T3 kickass, and the cost means more to me than the SP tbh, though they have dropped alot in price.
I wouldnt use it in PvP but for exploration, WH raiding, general NPC activitys its beyond badass, performs the roles of 5 different ships in one and can travel practically 100% risk free anywhere (cov ops and bubble nullifier subs ftw). -----------------

As far as I know (though, I haven't tested), it applies the raw damage to the unbonused ship. This is why you get the warning when ejecting from your ship in space.

I haven't seen it PERSONALLY, but I've seen videos where some people will catch a freighter and ransom it. The pilot bought out, ejected and the ship exploded - this is what I base my knowledge on. Idk if it's the actual fact, but thats what I saw and how I interpreted it. I do understand what you said though.

There are two variables: damage amount and max hull. Max hull changes depending on the skill and module bonuses, damage is an absolute number. I.e. if you have 5% structure left, you could lose the ship by fitting a nanofiber. Armor works the same way i believe. Shield actually tracks how much shield you have - hence the "damage" you get when fitting extenders and getting gang bonuses.

The amount of stupidity and just plain old incorrect and false information in this thread is just ridiculous.
I guess no one that is an actually competent pilot flies t3 ships in PVP except for me. Oh well.
Myth number one: you lose SP even if you eject from your ship or if someone else boards your ship and it explodes: false. If you 'ejected' and you still lost SP, guess what? You didn't eject fast enough you r3tard. Fail more please.
As to the rest of it, the number of people talking out their collective asses in this thread is nearing 100%. Thank GOD I posted here so as to keep the percentage from nearing 1.0. You people are idiots. You keep speculating about stuff while having zero first hand experience or even attempting to try it out 'for sure' on the test server. No he's just, as I am, tired of clueless morons that spout their thoughts as facts when they neither have the experience, nor the will to research, the FACTS, thus leading to MORE clueless people.
