Oh crap. I wish somebody would've run these numbers a week ago. Proviblob's whole strategy in Catch was predicated on our ability to outnumber our opponent by at least 5 to 1.
I have removed ones who have no space in Catch (yes Atlas has a couple of systems but that's for the JB network), though they might come to -A- aid if it goes really badly for them, but I doubt would be deployed straight away if an attack on Catch happened. How does that look?

Man, you really had me panicked there for a second. Thank you for the clarification.

Yet, for you-- it seems practical to group together two (or more) entities as a single combative entity simply because they have a non-hostile relationship with each other and reside in close proximity.
I'm not saying you are the first to make this illogical leap, but how about we attempt to avoid putting labels and making groups unless you actually know from the involved entities, that is unless these kind of threads are simply what they end up appearing like: A soapbox for politically disconnected and/or anonymous individuals. |

Why don't you ask Cry Havoc.
Ok, Eternal Rapture were an alliance we did ops with pretty regularly in the past. They later consolidated into a single corporation (Reaper Industries) and joined Cry Havoc.
The current ER isn't really an active entity at all, as probably evidenced by the fact that they aren't showing up on killboards anywhere.

It's like trying to define the political landscape during the Cold War. China and Russia might not get along 100%, but if a serious war with the US ever erupted, they would be fighting on the same side. Similarly, various small countries in south-east Asia might not get along with each other, while still all being roughly aligned with China.

You and others who have pointed that out are certainly right, and one could make a point of placing A+Allies and Atlas+Allies into seperate Powerblocks, but in the big picture and in the long run, there is generally one Southern Powerblock consisting of -A-, Atlas, ROL and The Initiative, with each of them having a bunch of different smaller Alliances blued. But it boils down to these four alliances forming a core and a number of smaller alliances allied to one or more of them. It simplifies things a bit, but it's not practical to get it more complicated. Thankfully the Southern Block is not nearly a massive, homogenic blob like the NC is.
Broadly I think this is true, at least the 'spirit' of what you are saying, but I don't think Stainwagon is represented and they are really their own entity.
The difference between the NC and the SC is that the SC are not permanently blue to each other, but INIT/ATLAS/AAA/ROL/Stainwagon etc would not doubt join forces if SC space was seriously threatened by an outsider. At least thats my impression from my terrible SC pet alliance.

Don't get all homotional brah. You are perfectly free to stand on your own little soapbox, place the southern alliances into their own little Powerblocks and explain the reasoning behind it, and also point out how these powerblocks you seem to see differ. Also, you are doing quite a leap there implying i am not involved in southern politics. You don't know after all.

I am either misreading your post or i simply don't understand. I have placed Stainwagon as its own Powerblock. Although they are currently blue and working together with -A-, they pretty much have their own identity and internal politics. ___________________________

The only way to make it one hundred percent accurate would be to ask all space holding (and significant none space holding) entities involved in 0.0 politics CEO's who they are blue with and who they are aligned with (aligned doesn't mean blued). However the problem with this is that not all would talk to a random person asking, not all would give accurate/full information (for intelligence purposes) and finally it would be a pita to actually do it.
It is not exactly accurate but from reading CAOD this is basically what you would assume is the current power bloc's of 0.0. Just make sure that all information put on CAOD is taken with a hefty pinch of salt and you will see that it was an interesting exercise (like me putting all the numbers of pilots in alliances and adding them up. Interesting but essentially useless because some are alts, some are inactive and some live in Empire, as well as pets/renters who haven't been named).
Its not totally right but then again its not totally wrong...

You would need a ****ing flowchart and history lessons to get a decent picture, it is obviously you need to simplify things without oversimplifying it. The map the OP was referring to grossly oversimplified things too, and that was about 5 years ago where the powerblocks wheren't nearly as entrenched and complicated as is now.
The only powerblock that is very easy to understand is basically the NC, because it's just a single big block with everybody blued to each other. And when the south thinks their poilitcs are complicated, they know ****all about the quagmire that is the droneregions. ___________________________

the Providence block is missing the non holding alliances that do help out :)
