To create a Covert Cynosural Field requires cyno field theory V. That's a 20+ day train for a support task of a skill you would otherwise never train beyond IV.
anyone else feel this is excessive and Cyno Field theory IV would be a more sensible skill level requirement?

No, but changing the rank of Cynosural Field Theory to 3 or 4 should be a good solution. -------------------------------- Fulbert. Miner - Industrialist |

I see no problem with it. It IS a specialised field after all, and there are still benefits of training Cyno Field Theory V. I saw it as a bit more insentive to make it a co-operative thing between players, since you cant just pump out your own cyno-alt in a day. Since I dont go for this whole alts-metagaming business, I only have one account, like my friends, and instead of all metagaming with 4 accounts, we work together to get things done.
When I was doing Battleship V for my Black Ops, my second-in-command was training Cynosaural Field Theory V to use the cyno generator, player co-operation, after all, being the point of a Multiplayer game.

WTF does this have to do with the OP's question? Get back under your bridge, troll. Or just STFU if you aren't a troll.
I think the question is, what value would cyno V have if everything could be trained to level IV and stop? Covert cynos are an incredibly powerful tool in knowledgable hands. Lowering the training reqs is like making a heavy machine gun "kid-friendly". |

Maybe you should train reading comprehension to lvl 1.
The point he is making is that if you downgrade the skill req to lvl 4, you could easily make a covert cyno alt and avoid the whole "playing with friends" thing that is part of an MMO. With the skill req at lvl 5, it is a specialized role not quite suited for an alt (unless you really want to spend 20+ days training up an alt for this purpose).
Reread his post and then read your reply. Guess who the real troll is? (hint probably the one being overly hostile and pretending to have a big epeen). _____________________________________________

Edited by: P''anChin Lien on 28/01/2010 19:39:13 You want to use normal cyno and save fuel, skill to lvl 4. You want to take advantage or provide support for specialised ships in game then train the skill to level 5.
Suck your nut sack in and stop whinging and just train the skill.
[Edit had to replace ******* with nut sack due to profanity filter.]

True but any smart capship pilot has a cyno alt.
