With all due respect CCP, we do not know what challenges, priority conflicts, resource constraints you are challenged. Perhaps some insight would earn patience and provide some hope of better days to your client base.
Sadly in these dark days, soon to be a two month darkness, we are left to perceive a complete disregard of EVE client satisfaction when faced with silence to our cries for light. Two way communication leads to understanding and hope. Hope leads to patience and salves the aggravation before the wounds turn infected.
IMHO it is time to admit that Dominion has introduced severe playablity problems minimizing the value of enhancements to sovereignty, fleet management, and pretty planets. It is time to put a stake in the ground. (although when my client locks there is a 1 out 4 chance, per day, that my camara is pointed in the right direction, so I can appreciate the detail graphics of moons and planets. My compliments!)
Based on the patch updates forthcomming...
It humbly occurs to me that you have 3 options...
1- Freeze the current Beta release we call Dominion and devote all technical resources to performance/bug issues. 2- Revert to Dominion release level -1.0.0 and execute option 1 until a reasonable amount of stabilty is acheived.(Like warping, docking, fleeting, and windows function as designed and once performed.) 3- Continue on this current slippery slope and see deterioration of your market share and lose your hertofor enthusiastic and dedicated client base.
It is up to you CCP, we want to believe you can save Dominion from joining the prestigious company of our most sacred and oldest teachings...There was once a doorway to a sister galaxy, and we named it New Eden....

**** you, CCP.

all vista and windows 7 users should be able to recover the old settings files using the builtin-and-enabled-by-default-VSS-feature. Since all Linux-users are uber-h4xx0rz they should have regular backups ;-).
now I know what that means:

Real men don't take backups!!!! ...they just cry a lot afterwards
@CCP - thanks for taking care of that, really looking forward to see my fittings again.

Noone wants 'backup', only 'restore'. No news there.
Yes, it is an inconvenience, but fittings can be recreated. On that note, now with usage experience under the belt CCP, could the number of Corporation fittings be increased?
Would something similar be possible for alliance-level fittings? Would something similar be possible for alliance-/corporation-level bookmarks?

Bugs after applying patch Dominion 1.1.1:
Jukebox: - The Jukebox is still broken: it plays only the first track on startup, then skips every track in the playlist (using Windows XP MediacenterEdition SP2) - new created playlists always fail to play any of songs inside (only cycles thru list). - stop button is missing since patch 1.1
Graphics: - if shader is set to high: no rendering, only GUI is visible (using Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset (GMA950), Shader 2.0 support) since patch 1.1 - if shader is set to low: extreme low framerates, new planet graphics have missing textures( since Dominion), some stations still have missing models (since Apocrypha), ugly lowres textures and still <10 fps when undocked (all graphic details set to lowest possible and all effects turned off))
Saved user fittings: - are still gone (since patch 1.1)

bootloader is missing after installing the patch vista x64 will not boot
error is
windows failed to start a recent hardware (no recent changes) or software change (eve client update) might be the cause
file: \boot\bcd status: 0xc000000f info: an error occurred while attempting to read configuration data.
i ran the patcher on both pcs (1x win7 x64 no issues & 1x vista x64) it copied in files. (patcher asked me to reboot on the vista x64 machine only) and that was the end of my vista bootloader thanks ccp some quality programming there :)

Edited by: gnarff on 28/01/2010 13:34:04 Not necessarily the patch 'content' feedback, so apologies, but feedback of the patch none the less;
Unfortunately for me the huge 1.1.1 patch failed to install with the auto patcher, so as advised I d/l the patch and went for a manual install, only to be told that it was already installed. OK. So when I run EVE I get a CRC Error on the common.ini file, and advised to re-install the game client..
hmmm...
I seem to remember CCP Atropos saying of the Repair Tool, "Often, with new releases, people run into issues downloading or patching their clients for a variety of reasons. With this tool, the days of forcing you to download the full installer are gone."
Anyway, a quick run of the Repair Tool solved the prob for me in a couple of minutes.
Re-installing from file or disc and then having to patch up-to-date can be a chore, nevermind downloading the full client Don't bury the Repair Tool when it can be a very simple quick fix on frustrating patch days!

Ok I have ran the repair tool and this is what it says,
Verification Failure,
There are extra files in your EVE client installation. If you've recently applied a patch you may need to restart your computer.
Unknown Files found: C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\RTA02750
so could anybody help? I have restarted the computer numerous times and turned it off but it still wont work :(

After applying the patch I was able to get my fittings back by restoring the "core_char_<userid>.dat" file in the settings folder. No, I didn't magically backup random files, I just used the already mentioned VSS-feature of windows vista to restore the file from a date before dominion 1.1. So I'm happy with that now.

Confirming the old files (from my manual backup) are read correctly again, thanks for fixing that.

Backup the offending file(s) to a secure location, then retry the repair tool. If it still doesn't work, restore the backup and file a bug report.

EVE doesn't like having extra files in the bin\ directory. Move them out of there, and try the client again. If you still get an error, let us know.

Damage readouts aren't matching what I'm being struck for. Example, it says I got hit for 259, but in fact it's nearer double that.
Jukebox still broke. In fact most of the new patch did next to nothing for the game. Well done. New signature pending OH NOEZ |

Since 1.1.1 all my reactors are now 'online - starting up' and haven't reacted anything since about 10am. When I try to offline them to reconfigure them, they're telling me they can't be interrupted in that operation.
Any ideas?

I use the Windows client.
I can't offline anything at our POS. It says: You cannot interupt <module> in that action.
Also, it cleared all the links for the reaction we had going and won't allow me to re-apply them. If I try to offline the reactor or any of the silos it give the message from above.
So, I can't run any reactions; I can't switch up my defenses if I need to; I can't take the POS down if I need to. Both our defenses and revenue stream are compromised. I've submitted a bug report, lord I hope you guys get on this one fast!

Dominion 1.1.1
POS: I have 5 bugged manufacturing jobs stuck in the "Ready" state, trying to deliver them results in this error: 15:30:13 Notify You cannot use the Ammunition Assembly Array as it needs to be online and is currently not.
I delivered a batch of bombs from the same arrays before patch downtime.

Just ran the patch, did nothing that would've disturbed it in any way so great was my surprise when I got the following error message when trying to start eve:
Verification Failure Your EVE client may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please re-install the game client Verification failed: 'C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\common.ini', crc:308c9e35, expected:4dde82a9
What does this mean? Please o please tell me this can be fixed other then by reinstalling, re-configuring the overview and all the windows and all is about as fun as poking a needle in ones eyeball can't I just remove the common.ini file or edit it? |

POS Modules not usable!!! No delivery of jobs, no reactions, no damn nothing at all!
Do I need to say more other than this causes the community billions of ISK of unneeded costs which end up in human play time which we humans (btw, real life CUSTOMERS) even PAY for???
Seriously, this is a brashness!

Run the Repair tool found in the main directory of your client. You can try deleting that file and using the repair tool as well, but back it up beforehand. Also, I now have one of those annoying sigs.
