I'd mail you the 43 cents myself just to shut you up but it would cost more to write the cheque and mail it than the value of your one days EVE time.

downtime is part of the game you are paying for.
enjoy the grinding-freedom, browse the forums, or just miss the game and enjoy it twice as much when coming back. Unpayable feeling

I didn't have a problem patching. So, it sounds like something on your end.
I know you probably don't want to hear that, but have you tried troubleshooting your computer and making sure your computer is healthy?
OP, you seem to be the minority.
Saying that CCP should refund you for something on your end doesn't and won't go over well here.

What does:

Means you couldn't log in because the server didn't authenticate you. In fact, it didn't respond at all. Meaning the server's down.

Sisi is just a playground for seeing what new stuff is added to the game before its added. There is no testing there thats what TQ is for welcome to EVE we do our quality control through live server and customers.

I think you have little to fear, unless there's actual data loss. This looks like a server-side crash, means that there is no combat going on while you're booted out like with a "normal" client crash. The sleepers got a boot in their teeth just like everyone else. ;)

I can use their products at night. There may be no point, or I may be a sunbed addict.
If every so often, without any warning, the UV protection just stopped, then your analogy might be more valid. |

OP, not you. And, it is relevant since it says you don't get a refund for things like today.

Even the EULA disagrees with you:
In the event of a material breach of CCP's obligations to provide access to and use of your Account, the System, Game, Game Content or User Content, your sole and exclusive remedy shall be a refund of any pre-paid subscription fees attributable to the period during which you were denied such access and use, or an amount equal to the value of three (3) months' subscription fees, whichever is less.
(In the past I have had game time added on because the system was so unstable)
But in any case national consumer law overrides what the EULA says. In my country a supplier of goods and services always has to act reasonably. |

Originally by: Banana Torres EULA QUOTE
Except, the key words there are "material breach of CCP's obligations" which are listed earlier in the EULA. You're quoting a section that just states that if CCP has violated their previous stated obligations then, and only then, will they refund you. Try reading the whole thing instead of just looking for something which, when taken out of context, you think might defend your position. |

As I say, consumer law and not the EULA would decide what is a "material breach". |

So, are you demanding a refund, or just whining on the forums in hopes that CCP will see it and say to themselves: "You know, this Banana Torres guy, he's right. We should refund everyone in the game for today's downtime!"...me thinks that last bit is probably it.
If I'm wrong, and you are indeed serious, I wish you good luck pursuing a lawsuit based on something that you've agreed to before you paid CCP any money. |

Originally by: Makran So, are you demanding a refund
If I wanted a refund I would take it up with customer services.
I am just sharing the knowledge that I obtained as a software manager, where I did have to deal with software licences, EULA, TOS and all the other crap that goes with buying and selling software. And I also had to deal with what happens when things go wrong. And so I know that judges ignore anything that tries to limit their powers and are very hard on companies that try to hide behind licence terms. |
