Is this normal!!!!
Ever time i try and run eve i get this message:_
Minidump generated in C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\logs\#crash b2942
This doesn't look good and has only occured after i did the download and installed it.
Someone please help.
Have i lost eve for good?
Will i have to re-start everything?

I'm too tired to troubleshoot, but I will say this.
Even if you have to reinstall EVE, remember that this is an online game. All of your EVE character information, isk, ships and so forth are on their servers and not your personal computer. Therefore reinstalling it, if you end up having to, would have no other effect than you having to tell it your display settings, UI color, an so forth.
In short: Your character information, ships, isk, and skills are all perfectly safe on the EVE servers.

I got this problem (or something similar at least)
If you downloaded the full Exodus client and tried to install it overtop the original EVE folder (with Castor) some of the old files are not overwritten.
Just reinstall the EVE client and it should work ok... I think...

Just reinstall the EVE client and it should work ok... I think...

delete your original copy (as in c;/program files/ccp folder - delete it) if you downloaded the full client and then re-install.

Don't forget to dump your cache folder before starting up. Lotsa files don't work with each other when it tries to bring em up. Ya it sucks to do it but oh well.

I got the same message...reinstalled it, lost all patches and had to download it all over again, got so to the point where i could doubble click the eveicon and the blue screen appears with EVE Online Exodus on but then it all stood still, nothing happened...i tried changing the compatible to win 98...nothing happened. So i deleted the map and did it all over again and now i cant patch the latest only get this sign....

I had the same sort of message, and it turned out that a file called resCastor.stuff was still in my EVE directory. I killed it and the games started as usual.

Like a few posters above me said, you need to uninstall your copy of EVE first, then install the new client. You can also just do the patches to get your version up to date. Your choice.

are you guys high? just reboot!
I got this only 2 times, when i installed eve and upgraded to shiva for beta, and now for exodus. Both times I just rebooted and it worked fine.

yeah delete your origional eve folder first becasue it will install and try too overlap thus fuxoring everything up (had asme error and immediatly relized the problem, delete orgional eve folder before install!)

Yup, lucky for me I had inadvertantly downloaded the full Exocus client. Just delete Castor and install the full. Fixed the problem for me.

Gil, I would also recommend that you make sure you have updated versions of your video, sound, and DirectX drivers.
It may not solve your particular problem BUT I've had absolutely NO problems when I keep myself up-to-date on those things, and I run 3 clients on a single PC all the time with great results.
