Yup, only 2 1/2 hours before test and it is saying that am not compatible. Good job CCP! Maybe it's a limited test with only Goons and IT allowed!

Just look what's currently going on and you will eventually notice that all the big fights have already stopped. Nobody cares anymore to engange into big fights only to die in a fire thanks to lag. **** the spastic server already goes emo with 200 people in local WHAT THE ****.
And while everyone who fought and died in 0.0 thanks to your ******edness is pretty much fed up with this ****, nobody will show up an help you because everybody here has lost the last bits of trust in you we may have had. Because you monkeys have literally no ****ing idea whats going on on your server, so why even bother?
You are going on ignoring all petitions about the endless number of bugs and literally ****ting in the face of the people in 0.0 and still think anybody cares.

ItĘs that sovereignty structures can still be damaged while large numbers of people in a system have the systems unresponsive.
Any approach to fixing lag really needs to implement some sort of feedback loop with clients openą to know how the lag is effecting clients open (there must be a way to freeze play temporarily in a node to query clients in a node minimally functioning mode and give a warning timer of when play will resumeąor options for mass retreatsąduring periods where there are logged on but un-responsive clientsą )
Basically if one side canĘt play no-one should play in that system.
It could mean that game mechanics need to be altered in some rough way to prevent a planed blob and crash being a military strategy, and IĘd leave that to other more experienced players to work out detailsą. Certainly there still need to be dynamics for less skilled, shorter term players from overcoming play differentials with numbers too though, especially on a defensive level.
ą but as it is the priorities arenĘt set rightą to just work on lag incrementally and allow the status quo to continue doesnĘt bump the issue to the top burner.
In the meantime, many players like myself will really be stand-offish about getting involved in a game where months of in game effort will be lost based upon technological glitches.
YouĘll limit the game base to subscribers who are ok with thatą and those people donĘt care and will be the ones sticking around giving you feedback,
and youĘll lose hundreds of thousands more potential long term subscribers like myself , perhaps a broader audience of people less committed to the rules of mmorgs and more accustomed to rules of fair play in sport, adults who donĘt want their recreational activities wrapped up in that sort of bs. ( I donĘt know a single person in RL who plays mmorgs, and as a real estate broker, father , soccer coach etc, I defitely interact with hundres of peole .. some probably do but I donĘt know it though)
I agree 100% with Everything this poster said. CCP needs to consider the very real investments players make in Sov, capital ships, multiple accounts... for the players that are the ones in the giant fleet battle's i'd wager that many of them are sending a LOT of real cash to CCP, for multiple account subscriptions, GTC and PLEX purchases, etc... CCP, to me, seems like they are attacking the problems, but need to IMMEDIATELY implement a system to protect people who have clients that are logged in, and unresponsive. I cant even count the times that I have died due to lag, or a black screen, or a complete disconnect, or the CCPEXEFILE.EXE has stopped responding in the middle of a fleet battle..
Cmon CCP, fix the major issues before giving us any more shiney planets, or new fighter bomber toys! Im all for innovation, but the QC is EXTREMELY Lacking in this game.

You know, when you are going to run this type of testing, you really should have your server patched the day before. I (like many people I suspect) logged on last night to ensure that I was up-to-date and patched ready to go.
What do I find when I come to log in this morning? Wow, a new patch!

Tried to download patch - failed not going to download again another 2.5 gb for full sisi client
Why not just have a select server option in the login screen. But then again I cant really approve of any of this because this is my signature |

I patched for the Sisi client last night. Tried to log onto it this morning to see what I can do to get ready. Saw the patch, and it told me I can't log in without updating. I updated, and it switched it back to Tranquility with incompatibility.
I tried to reinstate the Sisi patch, and the patch wouldn't reinstall to the new version. Had to delete and start over (I haven't patched Tranquility yet) and I still can't play unless I update, and the loop continues.
Great, I was hoping to participate today. Looking at everyones posts, I'm sure I'm not the only one.

You didn't miss anything. We warped to a gate and were told not to shoot anybody. A bunch of people shot us anyway. Both gangs warped to another gate and were told to jump through - got traffic control.

Right-click menu stopped working and I couldn't rotate the camera or give any orders to the ship. With no further instructionsn from CCP, I logged off.

Considering, that the test was intended to investigate Lag, I call it a Major success.
The devs wanted Lag, we delivered.
I just hope it was enough data to solve the problem.

We were able get a very good reproduction of the issue on Sisi and gathered some very good data about the lag issues; which we will be spending the next days pouring over to try and isolate the cause of the problem.
Rest assured we've got our best people on this issue and we will keep at it until we've solved it.

As requested I ran Logserver in the background with the Sisi testing (while I was there, I had to leave early). Do we need to file bug reports to get you the data, or do you not need client side information?

Sounds like they did give you instructions. The problem it seems is that people wanted to shoot each other rather than follow them. Remember this was a test to figure out where the bad code was and not a real fleet op so certain parts would be drawn out a bit as they collect data. If they were not overly verbal it was because they were doing things like reading the results of the programs they set up to analyze the data stream and discussing it between themselves. Sorry that being a tester isn't all fun and games.

It would be nice if for events like this, the mirror was actually updated to one less than a month old. It sucks when you log on expecting to do some testing with expensive stuff only to find your skills with said stuff on sisi are half your skills on tq, and i'm talking 10-25 day skills here.

It would, but usually they only mirror sisi in the days up to a major patch/update, simply because it takes _minimum_ half a day to do.

If you want to replicate the large fleet battles, You know where to find me and Others, and you know what has to be done. The testing done may have shown where the laggy code is..but you didn't recreate the issue. No one black screened and failed to load. Doesn't mean you didn't find *a* problem, but you can't be happy you didn't replicate it, eh?
If you want a full, NC CTA, you're going to have to freeze Sov for a couple hours, have the patch ready to go so we can spam our members to install it, pick a weekend, and pick a time. We'll pull a full CTA..everything and the kitchen sink and show you exactly the issues currently existing with whatever manner of logger running, and without shooting each other or goofing off, by recreating the situations exactly. If CCP does this, i'd invite Atlas and friends, and Tri and Friends to come as well..do it pro, do it right, and after they've collected their data, we can go at each other.
And FFS...we'll open a TS server and get everyone on it with a 0.0 FC team...TS/Vent=WIN. Eve Voice=Fail.
