They had the iskies, but they had auto-pay set on the wrong wallet. The problem appears to been exasperated since CCP seeded the systems that already had SOV /w TCU's, which means they were placed everywhere at about the same time. Normally you would have had a few systems lapse and then be fixed, but the fact that hundreds of these renewed at the same time there wasn't enough isk in the proper wallet.
It's kinda lame then. Although I thought it was lame enough when 1 person could disband an alliance simply by clicking disband and lose sov.
Also I assume WI and Legion had some other problems, since its unlikely they didn't pay up due to lack of isk in correct wallet.
When CCP seeded all of the TCU's for existing sov holders they were onlined at the exact same time. Since the Goons moved a good portion of their TCU's to deathstars it changed the tick time for the bill. Since isk security is important the accountants didn't have enough to isk in the auto-pay wallet to cover all of the bills, not to mention the directors and accountants were mostly afg. If they are away no one else saw the alerts for the sov bill and the rest is history.
Not a big fan of losing regions to a ****ty mechanic, whether on the losing or the winning side.

Remember kids the goons don't care about what we care about. They were satisfied with their 'cultural' victory when hargoth pushed the disband button in delve so losing it now means nothing to them. Or so they will say..

Ya, but there are lots of "questionable" game mechanics that people have gotten kills from. Lofty scam, Titan remote ddd, neutral remote repping, etc, etc. These mechanics are well known to all just as billing mechanics and if you screw up then it is your fault. This is not rocket science, it is a very simple bill, if you cannot handle that then you deserve to loss sov and die in hilarious fashion.
I for one, love how the goons/random alts immediately call it a spy, then probably a hax and now it looks like it was due to their own incompetence.
I would much rather 0.0 come down to fights as well, but we all know it rarely comes down to fights, most people evacuate or call on all their friends and break the server.

ROFLMFAO!!! Burn Goonie s****burn. This song is for you as some of the lyrics seemed to apply.
By: Linkin Park.
I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve
So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide
There was nothing in sight but memories left abandoned There was nowhere to hide, the ashes fell like snow And the ground caved in between where we were standing And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve
So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes across this new divide
In every loss, in every lie, in every truth that you'd deny And each regret and each goodbye was a mistake too great to hide And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve
So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide Across this new divide, across this new divide
Replace lightning with those stupid cyno bubbles CCP gave us(please let us ride the lightning again CCP). In perting I would like to quote the great Nelson from the Simpsons. *points at goons* "HA HA!"

Its an Influence map, not a direct sov map. Goons still have station systems (and high level sov systems?) elsewhere which push influence through to the systems with no contesting-influence. I Believe WI Do not. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

This, honestly.
While what occurred with sov obviously should not have happened, even the most rabidly pro-Goon among us can concede that there was an element of karma present.

Perhaps a little tip to Karma would be in order.

Yes, yes, back to basics.
Sort of like when someone looses a faction fit BS they did it on purpose to get back to T1 basics.....
On a side note a bunch of my Atlas friends said that if AAA and IT have any trouble pushing you guys out their alliance is more than willing to help. Maybe you guys could become a high sec ninja salvaging corp under a different name

Because the link is improper. Take off the "BR" at the end of it. The link should end in .mp3.

and their directors/whomever being afk/on vacation so they didn't receive the proper DED mails about sov dropping unless they paid the bills
Overall, I'm not certain if I should feel bad about someone getting screwed over by the alliance mechanics (yet again) or laugh my ass off at the truckloads of delicious, delicious irony the entire situation contains _____________________ Horrors! Demons in the deep! |

Our policy is always to leak every SotG recording ourselves as soon as possible.
There's no point trying to keep it quiet since spies will pass on the content to any hostiles involved anyway, so this just cuts out the middle man.

If anyone want to know what happened with the Goons, some Director's made mistakes or was not in time with paying the bills :
http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/1001/sotg.mp3
You can skip to 04:20, there a Goon director starts explaining what happened and what they are going to do next.
