They had enough money, they just messed up paying correctly and/or in time.

We have something like 400bn liquid isk to hand.
Unfortunately none of it was in the right section of the right corp wallet, and the people with access to move it over weren't around this week.
(which, I grant you, is equally hilarious)

No offense man -- I am pretty new around here, after all -- but I don't believe you.
Frankly, I don't think that you find this funny at all. You may look upon the situation with a bit of bemusement from the irony involved (I read up on some backstory, so I know a little about Delve), but from listening to the recording it would seem to me that the next few weeks will really be nothing more than a chore. The fact that it all resulted from what amounts to little more than an admin mistake and the tone of the recording lends credence to the theory that while nobody is screaming-nerdrage-angry about the situation, nobody is laughing much either.
In other words, you can stop trying to convinces us all that what happened is "funny". It's not funny. It's a pain in the butt at best, and a f-up of massive proportions over a simple error at worst.

Didnt you see the org chart then? if thats not taking it seriously, ofc they were taking it seriously just like every other big alliance is! It is ironic how pretty much the smae thing happened with sov loss as to boss, granted not on the same scale. But what worries me more is that they werent properly organised, i mean talk about putting your eggs in one basket with NOL and J-...even worse knowing that the main station anyone would attack, howver they still have 30 stations and chose to just abandon, ok i understand that JBs are down etc etc, but for future notes, if these completely cripple an alliance surely theres a problem with mechanics somewhere? Its like a ship and everything on it relies on cap, onces thats goes your fecked... Tbh i cant stand goons and what they stand for so good riddance its about time...but you got to admire IT for coming back how they have done, ok with a little luck with delve but its seems NC, Goons have had the pincer movement on them and its been a well organised invasion.
Lets see what mess it leaves...

Curious,
Was the scale of the loss caused by having slightly too little in an account ... ie. enough to pay for 20 systems dues but having 24 systems worth of dues hit at the same time in one combined bill so , in some oddity of computer logic, the payment for all were rejected ?

I think its the goonies way of 'saving face' by covering their retreat to syndicate because doing the responsible alliance thing and contribuing to the economy was not in the spirit of the goon. So they let the bills lapse and blame it on ccp's implimentation of the sov billing system even though the vast majority of territory holding alliances didn't have any issues paying them on time.

After all the crap goon's spout on forums, all the propoganda, all the trolling and insults to the other players of other alliances, when it comes down to it goons failed quickly and easily. BOB was defeated in my opinion in an underhand way, but they went down kicking. because of that when they reformed as kenny then as IT they retained there membership because they kept there mutual respect. so will goons at the end of this be the same as at the start, how can the average goon member respect there leasership after this mess? oh and dont kid yourself you left rather then got kicked out because you wouldnt be leaving if IT were not knocking on your door, cause and effect.
what goes around comes around, all that sickening gloating from the goons has all gone silent and will soon be replaced by goons claiming they left of there own will, its ccp's fault, they wanted a change etc etc. i doubt many will cry over goons loss except goons themselfs
keeps the game interesting though

They should probably have thought about it beforehand.... A game where the objective is to grind the other guy into dog poo just MIGHT not be the easiest game to grief people out of
Also, I lol'ed when I saw their org chart... Talk about taking the game too seriously...

This is not an accident. Sov drops on the night of one of the largest game release dates (mass effect 2) and everyone says its a bug? lol. a large amount of cash was transferd to not pay the bills. this is corperate espionage at its best. money changed hands and im sure it goes deep. it was a set-up and nobody wants to admit it. goon doesnt want the world to know that they are just as vulnerable as BOB was. this isnt the first time cash has been paid to effect events in eve and it wont be the last. congrats to those who had a hand in this you have done well. goons can burn and 90% of us wouldnt **** on them to put em out. good show mates.

Are you saying that the makers of mass effect 2 infiltrated goonswarm and spread around large amounts of real life monies to make sure they would all be ready and waiting for its release?!
My God..

My God..
No, not the makers. The games themselves have been gaining in complexity for decades now, they have been... learning. I first noticed it with certain anomalies in asteroids, centipedes and space invaders.... O crap... my eve account is looking at me! It knows, I know! Spread the word my brothers and sisters!
