Personally I think the best way to combat intolerance and derogatory terms is to put a humorous spin on them because once that happens, they lose that stigmatizing meaning and effect.

The reason for being offended by terms such as 'jewbal', etc., is that it represents a loss of power. When the general public was okay with jokes about the ***[1] in mainstream media, it indicated that the ***'s power and influence were no more.
With people throwing 'jew' around to indicate successful wealth creation, Jews as a whole are losing their "special" (for lack of a better term) status in history. It's human nature to resent a loss in status, even when it means society is moving beyond the initial cause of that status such as anti-semitism or the holocaust.
