Will we ever get to see the survey results or is this an internal thing we are being teased with? <--(never got a survey)

Edited by: Ryan Easte on 01/03/2010 11:49:25 I took part, been playing 6months or so, These things are important when they make decisions on what direction to take the game in and the company etc, from what I recall the demographics for the survey were pretty open and not really aimed at a specific group of eve players.. but i could be wrong, i dont recall all of it :s

Originally by: Ddot Ecnirp I got one I filled it in, and yes it took a long time.. at least 30 mins. Do not diss the survey. it may be useful!
Well I've been playing 3 years, got 3 accounts and got a survey invite for each account! Yeah, it did take a long time, and I didn't really think it was worth saying the same thing 3 times, so only filled it in once.
Be good if CCP can put some player ideas back into the game.
I certainly appreciated the chance to put some ideas forward.

Is it because Im poor, ugly, smell bad, fat and not gay? Why I was left behind? WHY? WHY?
P.S. The last "WHY?" is a bigger "why" than the previous "WHY".

I dont think it was a survey, it was a trap!
Didnt get one either and play since 04 with two accounts So, in fact it was two sweepstakes, one to select the people who would get the survey, from all eve, and another from the people who got the survey, and was selected to win! Double luckers those guys on the list
What did they win I wander? Any BPO _________________________

Same here...
If they sent it to our RL email... we never saw it. If they sent it to our Eve email... we never saw it.
The purpose of a survey is the get the largest number of people to answer the questions so as to get a more representative sample of the population you are targeting.
CCP you need to publicize this survey MORE!

I received the survey in my real life e-mail:
Originally by: Survey
Dear *insert my user name here*,
You are invited to participate in a survey being conducted by CCP.
In this survey, you will be asked about your opinions and feelings towards EVE Online and video games in general.
Your time is precious, and this is one of the most extensive surveys we've ever issued. We apologize for taking up your time, but by completing it fully, we have an opportunity to improve the EVE Online experience together.
Please help us by being completely honest with your responses and working through all the questions. It should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary, however your opinion and feedback is very important to us. Please note that everyone who completes this survey will be entered into a sweepstakes prize drawing. We will be selecting a total of 25 winners. Each winner will be able to choose one of two prizes:
$100 (USD) gift certificate to the EVE Online store
or
6-months worth of free subscription to EVE Online
Your survey responses will be strictly confidential. If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, you may contact the research team at [email protected].
You can enter the sweepstakes by completing this survey online. Please start the survey now by clicking on the below link or pasting the link into your browser. This survey will be available for about one week.
http://survey.acnielsenonline.com/wix/p543028794.aspx?r=32191&s=NNHMGUXN
Thank you very much for your time and support.
Sincerely, CCP Research Team
While I have not been playing since beta, the character that received that e-mail is over 3 years old. I'm thinking that they randomly chose a certain number of active subscribers and e-mailed that representative group. You'd have to ask CCP about their survey metrics to find out how it went down, though.
For the record, I didn't win, I'm not a CCP employee, and I'm not, in fact, bitter that I am neither of those things. :P

How do you tell the difference between an actual EvE survey and the phishing emails we've been warned about?
Wouldn't it be ironic if the list of winners corresponds to the list of people with hacked accounts?

Ditto. It was sent by email (not eve-mail) to a random selection of the eve community and basically covered a variety of general questions about MMO's, other personal gaming preferences and a selection on EVE specific likes/dislikes. So if you didn't get one, tough, stop complaining & stop feeling unloved and neglected. If CCP had advertised it better you'd still be complaining because you didn't get one. Use this thing called a forum instead, it's for the same purpose, just less likely to get CCP's attention unless you shout really loudly ;p

All of those "winners" need to be placed immediately under suspicion for being dev alts. And yes, I took the survey and didn't win and yes I'm biter about it. 6 months free would have been awesome.
