Was surprised, and was the first time I ever got one from CCP after almost 4 years of playing Eve. Was really nothing special, took like 20 minutes to do. They used a 3rd party for the survey, I would suspect that you pay more the more people you test.

Eh not quite what I was getting at. The sample size does not necessarily need to be large to provide an acceptable confidence interval for a finding.

Well I've been playing 3 years, got 3 accounts and got a survey invite for each account! Yeah, it did take a long time, and I didn't really think it was worth saying the same thing 3 times, so only filled it in once. Be good if CCP can put some player ideas back into the game. I certainly appreciated the chance to put some ideas forward.

If they sent it to our Eve email... we never saw it. The purpose of a survey is the get the largest number of people to answer the questions so as to get a more representative sample of the population you are targeting. CCP you need to publicize this survey MORE!

It was sent by email (not eve-mail) to a random selection of the eve community and basically covered a variety of general questions about MMO's, other personal gaming preferences and a selection on EVE specific likes/dislikes. So if you didn't get one, tough, stop complaining & stop feeling unloved and neglected. If CCP had advertised it better you'd still be complaining because you didn't get one. Use this thing called a forum instead, it's for the same purpose, just less likely to get CCP's attention unless you shout really loudly ;p
