is it because there's 10k people pulling CCP's internet strings, or is something terribly wrong with the connection/patch provider?
+16 hours for the patch to finish is alot, when im used to 3-4 hours at my normal DL speed. |

I just downloaded the full version in 40 minutes.
Use the bittorrent, fools. Not only does it cut down on CCP's bandwidth usage, it is a lot faster than DLing from a singular server.

Do they have a Firewall/NAT protecting their network?
Bittorrent needs ports 6881 through 6889 open for it to atain a high download rate.
2004.12.11 03:07:32notifyThe Serpentis Mercenary is too far away, you need to be within 54625 meters of it but are actually 13193590680251 meters away. |

Bittorrent worked great here. You need to ensure that you have the relevant ports on a firewall opened and routed to your client machine. As noted above, opening the ports 6881-6889 is a necessity. However it's not recommended to open up the port range 6881-6999. Of course, if you're behind a router, forward those ports to the machine running the BT client on your network.
