Well okay, not half my screen but damn near close to that! Why do i need the little solarsystem image? I love having the scanner opened all the time before... but now..
And them probe sections in the bottom, are useless. It says "you need to launch probes" but guess what scanner window... I wont use probes, dont care about them, so why do i need you opened all the time?
Anyway to add an option to "show probe scan window" and "show solarsystem view in scanner" so i can unclick them?

new scanner > old scanner
resize it, or hit <TAB> to minimize it

I find it unobtrusive and I like the fact that you can save scanner profiles. You can click through the empty space, same as you can click through windows to the radio buttons.

How do i make this "new, much better, real scanner" tell me what ships are circling a station few dozen (hundred) thousand km from my current position?
Right now it looks like i still need to open the 'old' scanner for stuff like that, and it is way bigger than the old one, without a good reason.

Little point in using the scanner unless you are using probes or doing a directional scan, and in both cases the little system map is quite useful.
After all, you need to know which way to point your ship. ====================================
