I'll be taking my character on some nice low sec roams soon when i have enough SP and have finished various learning skills and was wondering what the best low sec region is to roam in? I don't mind getting slightly blobbed however major blobs is something i want to avoid. I heard molden heath was a good region to find some fun in.

Make friends, go to FW space.
The first part being the most important. Simply having a group of 3-5 ships will open up enough engagement opportunities that you can actually have fun. Running solo will likely leave you spending many evenings bored out of your mind trying to find a fight you have some remote chance of winning.
Also, I'm assuming you're new to PvP. Having other2 to learn from will be another great benefit of running in a gang.

As far as I know, 75% of the well-known pirate corps live in Gallente lowsec, so make sure to come to Placid, Everyshore, Sinq Laison and Verge Vendor. And don't forget Amamake, it's 10-15 jumps from Gallente lowsec, but is the lowsec system that gets the most kills per hour.

Amamake is a place for fleet fights. If your solo you probably not going to live to long in there. .

Stick to frigates and don't engage when he has over 2 friends in local. Use personal standings to spot them.

You dont go to amamake to live. You go there to get a fight. Nothing beats the all vs. all that happends from time to time.

I love Amamake because there's tons of t1 frigates and cruisers flying around looking for a brawl-- which is perfect because that's all I can competently fly so far.
Every time I've been through rancer, all I've ran into is battleships, HACs, and carriers.
People in this thread are mentioning Gallente space. Are you talking about OldManStar? What are the Gallente hotspots?

Rancer and Aridia chokepoints (Vehan to Hier) are blobby with BS. Same old corps camping those places day after day. Boring places unless you have a heavy gang of your own to bust their gate camps.

Edited by: David Devant on 02/02/2010 13:52:39 Join a FW player Corp. Best way to ensure target rich low sec roaming. Plenty of corps will take you on if you're keen to try out pvp.
Edit: That was a hint : p

In Gallente/Caldari low-sec the zone between Old Man Star and Tama is generally full of FW gangs (and, occasionally, fleets) plus the usual pirates. Hang around a bit and someone will come and try to kill you, for sure :-)

You want Aridia.
While you are there, have a go at Dark Rising's assets.
Mitch Taylor will love you for it.

Edited by: Darthewok on 05/02/2010 12:03:05 best way to get solo pvp fights is to * pick 4-5 hotspots all different regions but within 20 jumps each of the next. some low-sec, some 0.0 is best. diversify your opportunities for action. * organize them into a loop/circuit. * give each hotspot 30mins? each to see if there is activity. if there is not, move to the next. don't waste time waiting hours for activity.
start researching now to accumulate your own diversified portfolio of favorite places to get fights. if you just count on a single place you will get bored and wait for hours with no action as you may hit its lull time. some days one place is hot, some are cold. its highly variable and random from day to day. some spots you never find any fights suddenly shock you by giving you a few some days. so diversify and keep rotating.

So much this. Solo pvp is as viable as shoving a square block through a circular hole. Sure you can do it if you try hard enough but sometimes you just want to go the easier path and get the circular block. (Note: Does not apply if you dont mind leroy-ing into unsurvivable odds, but i'm not rich enough to keep that going)
Just check the map for most podkills/ships destroyed. Those will be the places you want to go.

lol aridia and rancer are blob-only territory. only go if you have a group going, not for solo. over time you realize which hotspots are solo-possible, and which only for blobs.
