hi there , i am wondering if anyont uses phantasm for solo wormhole work.. i know there are better ships, but you know, its a sansha ship and i think having one of them is extremely cool :P
also this ship have 2 free utility slots, which is perfect for a solo wormholer (probe launcher + salvager).
so what do you think? has any one tried this? ------------------------------------------------ cruisers used to be a great power when i started this game :) |

That would make a nice killmail for roaming wh gangs.
Wormholes are like nullsec, would you take the ship into a 0.0 system alone to try to rat while not looking at the local channel?

going by that, no ship is safe in WH's
anyway, i dont think a phantasm has enough tank to handle the c3, c2 might be pushing it very badly aswel

This is stupid and not really valid advice. Wormhole space might be treacherous but it is hardly comparable to nullsec without local. No local also means no one knows your there until they directional scan or probe you out. Second, your running anomalys and sites that require use of system scanner or probes. NOT ratting in belts that can be warped to instantly.
I fly a Legion worth well over 1.5bil in a wormhole regularly and have been for the past 2 months. I have never even come close to losing it.
Simple.. Know your exit wormholes. Watch your directional scan. Stay aligned to SS or POS.
As for using the Phantasm, not a good idea. It is impossible to fit a cap stable tank and still use lasers. Atleast one that is effective at all. Class 1 maybe, but would hard to get anything reasonable for class 2 or higher.

I was playing around in EFT to get a rough idea of this ship's capabilities. After about ten minutes of fiddling, I started to wonder why people would pay 125m for one. Ugh.
You can fit up a passive tank that will handle 180 or so DPS, and with Scorch, deal 300 out to a decent range. That's really about it.
Anything the Phantasm can do, the Harbinger can do better.

Please don't use a phantasm. It's pretty but a real bad idea. Honestly. |

I can attest to flying a phantasm in w-space. This ship will not handle C-3's and C-2 are extremely iffy solo.
It does fine if you have some friends and pay very close attention to who the sleepers have targeted. It's a very difficult ship to fly against sleepers. The only saving grace is being able to damn near insta-pop the frigs with the tracking bonus.
