Edited by: Wotlankor on 09/02/2010 09:02:20 The Megathron slowly makes its way through what used to be am imperial hangar with the order that follow. To my right a Tempest class battleship has crashed into the docking structures and miniature figures can be seen on the deck. I cannot say if they are dancing or arguing over the wrecked Tempest.
I take care to don my finest regalia for this occasion. The sword that was handed to me by Zoolkhan is polished and my UshraÆKhan markings shine and radiates the dull red of the Morphite used as a stone.
I stand and gather myself, ready for the crowd and the orderly ranks of soldiers that will all hail the Matar victory. The port loading bay opens and I step out into the hangar. Emptyà?
Faint drums and screams can be heard far off. A single bottle makes a weird tone of its own as it rumbles down a ramp. At the top of the ramp can be seen a Matari hand that is shaped very much as if the bottle could be sucked into its grip were it not for the soft snoring sound.
Making my way further into the station I can sourly conclude that there will be no ceremony for the time being. A party is being held and here and there is the dead drunk body of pod pilots, commoners and whatnot is one big happy heap.
Noises grow louder as I get nearer what is labeled ôDeck 23ö. A fabled bar where stories of war were shared and I assume quite a bit of alcohol has been consumed. A brutor and a gallentean girl makes their way past me, the brutor stops shortly and exclaims something that cannot even be called a statement or sentence. He gives me a hug that will leave my ribs in pain for a few days and staggers on down the corridor.
By now I realize that I will seem very out of place with my regalia and fine clothes. There is no ceremony, no ranks of soldiers standing to attention while the leadership proclaims victory in a long speech. I should have been wiser by now. Short, to the point and then off to the bars is what is happening.
I nod to Tizian as I pass her by a table; she recognizes me but is unable to focus on me and waves her hand making a gesture I believe to say ôHi there Wotö, while trying to maintain her balance on the chair.
Jessie is standing nearby wielding the freaking two largest rifles I have ever seen. ôHey Jessie should they not be on a Rifter?ö I yell. Big white teeth shine behind the cigar as he nods smiling.
Here and there are scattered small groups of AAA pilots, they seem to enjoy the situation but are to some extend taken back a bit by the bravado displays of the UshraÆKhan pilots. Some of them though have already thrown off their reservations and participating in drinking contests, dancing and arm wrestling. Even though I have been with the UhsraÆKhan pilots for quite some time now I cannot say I share the joy they must feel for taking back what has been lost so far back. I wish I had the same long story to tell of exile, toils and return. I do not.
I am a roaming mercenary but for some odd reason it felt like coming home when I stepped out and made my way through the station. I am UshraÆKhan and in being UshraÆKhan I share the past, the present and the future of my fellow pilots and even feel the relief of wandering a station IÆve walked before.
We are the UshraÆKhan and we come for our people.

Unity Station - 9UY4-H system, Providence region Docking bay 17 Long Range battlecruiser UKS Javelin
With the distant hum of the power core fading away, captain Oroa stripped off his neural cap, emerging from the cacophony of a myriad system and status reports to another, more organic cacophony of the bridge command crew cheering all around him. Relaxing for a moment in the cushioning of his command chair, he watched them with a faint smile on his face.
How elated they are, and most, no, none of them had even seen the station before. But they understood the importance. They felt the symbolic power this victory held for all Matari people. The slavers were beaten, driven off. The old city of the free was back in the hands of those who would see an end to all slavery, and all was right, even if for just a moment.
Somewhere in 9UY4-H system, Providence region a few hours later
They were all dead now. Ontaku's eyes snapped open, and he gazed at the stars through the canopy of the cramped command module on a Rifter-class frigate, towards the white dot he imagined to be the Unity station. Luckier crews were probably still celebrating there, the whole floating city jubilant, in its revelry oblivious to the ongoing struggles and skirmishes blooming in the cold vastness of space around it.
The small command module was silent, the few of the command crew which survived the destruction of the Javelin staring intently at their displays. This was the life of a spacer on a combat ship. Live fast, die quickly. If you are lucky, you might live through your tour of duty and retire a rich man on some tropical planet somewhere, leaving the cold space forever behind. Most were not lucky. It was a high-stakes game for the insanely brave and manically desperate. All knew the score when they joined up the crew of a combat ship. But few ever suspected, as human beings often fail to do, that it would be them - not some other poor sap - paying the ultimate price.
Yet he knew that where the thousand that perished came from, billions eagerly awaited a chance to rise among the stars and wage war upon something that defined the Matari existence for so long. Pulling his neural cap back on, and replacing the starfield outside with the view of a camera drone, captain Ontaku ordered the ship's engines to kick in, and align the small vessel towards the latest warp-in point relayed by fleet command, yet another in the series of small, short and sometimes deadly skirmishes that unfolded, consumed ships and men, and faded away into nothingness like some voracious stalking beasts roaming the edges of any war.
The slavers were still out there.
The job isn't finished yet.

Pator IV (Matar) Kade Jeekin stands in the luxurious penthouse, his wives, children, friends and comrades around him. All watching the glorious dawn breaking.
He ponders the past. From when the egg first hatched through the dark days when Muritor was murdered by the Republic and UNITY was lost to the enslavers. The time in the wilderness, questioning our purpose.
But the fire did not melt away our hope, The adverstity annealed our strength. We return alongside a vast armada of death for the slavers. Death they brought upon themselves. First with the Elders and now, out of the depths of space, alongside a force even surpassing theirs.
More liberated systems in the Bleak Lands, space for the people to grow, and now, UNITY once more free of the slavers grip.
The sun rises once more. A new day for Matar.
We come for our people. --------------------------------------- Outface the depths of evil with clarity --------------------------------------- |

Edited by: Padaxes on 09/02/2010 13:21:41 I strode from the hall down familiar corridors feeling a powerful mix of exultation and melancholy. Even with Karns words along with the cheers of Minmatar warriors and freed slaves still ringing in my ears I could not quite believe I was once again walking the halls of Unity station. The thrill of victory was tempered by the atrocities this station had been host to since the Amarrians took it. I wasn't sure I would ever be able to feel the same about my old home, even now my crew were cleaning my old quarters, stripping out every sign of occupation but would it ever really feel clean again?
I heard screams echoing down the corridor, they cut short suddenly as I rounded the corner to find a crowd of freed slaves cheering over the broken body of an Amarrian worker unlucky enough to be left behind by his fleeing fellows. He had been hiding in a conduit, to no avail, after years of abuse there was little mercy to be found at the hands of the liberated.
My emaciated tribe mates dropped the corpse when they saw me and gathered round in a throng cheering their thanks, some trying to hug me or shake my hand. I had no doubt similar scenes were playing out across the station and I was once again filled with conflicting emotions. I stepped over the battered Amarrian, his engineers overalls soaked with his own blood and wondered if he had ever owned a slave? Or was he just a man doing a job?
I left the cheering rabble behind, steeling myself and casting aside these doubts, reminding myself of the horrors my Brothers were enduring all over New Eden at the hands of their Amarrian masters. Even a lowly engineer played his part supporting the infrastructure that enslaves our people. He may not have even agreed with slavery but he would have stood by and watched it and done nothing.
I spit on the floor, they deserve no mercy, no quarter and none shall be given.
I step into my old office, now completely bare, looking much as it did the first day I arrived in this station and tears begin to well up in my eyes. This is a great moment for our cause, I wipe my eyes and about turn, I think it's time to join the celebrations properly!

Many years ago, a strong few took it upon themselves to join together. With fists raised high, they struck back at their oppressors. With fists raised high, they beat back the storm. With fists raised high, they planeted the acorn in a field of hatred, a field that would reject them and try to push them into darkness, back into the storm.
Through blood and fire they fought. Through humble honor, they sought friends in the storm. Together with honor, together in strength they fought hard. Never yielding, never waning, they took back what was theirs.
They were the ones who planted the acorn so long ago, the acorn that grew into a sapling of hope, the sapling that grew into a tree a freedom. A tree that was hacked by axes of betrayal, a tree that bears the scars of oppression, a tree that now stands free in a Forest of Unity.
Oak and Ash, Birch and Yew, together they stand among the burned fields of hatred. Oak and Ash, Birch and Yew, together they now stand blinding the darkness with the light of freedom. Oak and Ash, Birch and Yew, together they are the shelter against the storms of oppression.
At long last, the saplings grow free again. At long last they stand under the branches of the Tree of Unity. At long last, we have come...for our people.

Deliverance Reclaimed - 9UY4-H - Providence Location Unknown YC 111 09-02
The wet clone goo still sticking to his body as he emerged from his pod, Tyler Tharn weakly lurched through the dim lit halls of the station that what was once called Deliverance Reclaimed. The clone bays had been the first to go - any shells unfortunate enough to be left there were being eagerly tossed out the airlock by the ex-slaves to attempt to satiate their lust for violence. As God as my witness, I will not share their fate. He thinks as he pushes through grimy corridors now tarnished from their lack of upkeep. Heading deeper, ever deeper into the bowels of the Station - away from the raving hordes, sure to rip him limb to limb if they discovered his presence.
He had left the State to seek glory and companionship among his allies, and had been blessed with much success for a time. But, as with all business ventures, there can be hostile takeovers occasionally. He looks down at the small honorary State Pistol that was given to him when he first graduated from the University, set on a path to adventure among the stars and to ponder their mystery... Naked, but armed. A proper way for a Caldari to go. And if those slaves do find him, well... He'd make sure to leave one bullet in the chamber once he was done. They weren't going to toss him screaming out an airlock. He will go out the way the State had taught him. To go down fighting for whatever cause he believed in, for the Glory of the State - and in this case - his Ammar brethren.
Tyler paused for a moment, hearing the pitter-patter of many footsteps on the metal floor above him. He would have to go deeper in... still deeper... ---- Diplomat for Exiles of Chaos |

Congratulations to Ushra'Khan, their allies, and most of all, the newly freed people, who are no longer objects, but citizens.
You ought to thank CVA and Friends too, for without their excursion into Catch, and their refusal of -.A.-'s ceasefire, I doubt your allies and hosts would have embarked in the troublesome duty of a Providence campaign.
A most fortunate turns of events for the cause of freedom, no doubt about it.
I think I will go dock in 9UY, when my station side duties permit.

Azure rummages around in a tattered old kit bag and removes a buckled slab of metal. On it, a dedication to JFS Pariah.
JFS Pariah
Our fathers wrought I self of pain. Our mothers quenched I self with blood. Our brothers launched I self upon a river of tears. Our sisters wailed to I, speak of thyself.
Father! Your pain! Shall become our rememberance! Mother! Your blood! Shall become fire in our hearts! Brother! Your tears! Shall become a deluge of vengeance! Sister! Your dirge! Shall become a hymn of hate!
For we are Tempest! We come for our people!
I recovered this from the wreckage of a ship that i lost many years ago. She died well, guns blazing, defiant to the last. For me, if there is one thing that symbolises the Minmatar and their cause it is the Tempest class battleship. This piece of tarnished and battered metal has come with me everywhere ever since. Not sure why, i just never seemed to be able to throw it away.
I think i might have a home for it now.
I know i am not of Matari blood and it would do me no insult to refuse this but, i would like very much for this dedication plate to be placed somewhere in Unity Station. It would be best there. It would be right.
For your people!

Now Ushra'Khan came for our people and washed away the ignorance from Providence, i could not be happier when i heard that Unity Station was once again in the right hands, i enjoyed this more than most of the latest events and that is because one of the most important symbols of our Freedom is shining again in the dark.

As Taanu wandered through the empty Amarr officer's quarters in Unity, a noise intruded upon his quiet contemplation. It was a moan, a female voice caught not in the midst of sex but abject terror. Crossing the bar, avoiding the scattered chairs, tables and hastily discarded bottles and glasses, Taanu approached a small waist-height stage hidden from view by heavy felt curtains. Pulling back the curtains he was greeted with a unimaginable tableaux. A female was hog-tied to a ladder-backed chrome chair. The gag that had been over her mouth was half-way off, hence the moans emanating from her mouth. One eye was swollen and there were cuts on her face out of which drooled smears of blood.
Taanu's brain filled with a raging fire - even as the brave warriors of Ushra'Khan and AAA sieged the station, CVA officers instead of asking for guidance from their gods had taken pleasure in depriving this young Minmatar slave of her belief in humanity. To a non-believer, the universal extravagance of the Amarr's religious rituals, with their cost in human suffering, suggested as vividly as a mandrill's backside that their god was nothing but a false mantra to appease their own arrogant pride.
Taking a deep breath, Taanu smiled reassuringly as he carefully loosened the bonds that had cut deep into her wrists and ankles and gently removed the gag from her trembling mouth. As he folded her into his arms she gave a great shiver as if she were exhaling for the last time. "I don't want to be alone" she barely whispered.
Her plaintive words thawed his icy heart."You're not alone young warrior". He bent over her , his lips touching her forehead."I'm here with you. We're all here with you."
"Yes I know, it's good, I feel your Minmatar arms around me." She gave a final shudder and he looked into eyes that were fixed staring into infinity. He threw his head back in anguish and gave a feral scream "Nooooooooo!" His rage was motivated not only by hatred and a need for revenge, but by a sense of shame and humiliation for not saving her and the millions like her. It was then he realised looking around the bar, hearing the celebrations throughout Unity Station that today was not the end. It was the beginning. The beginning of a new era where Providence would be freed from the shackles of slavery and oppression, where men, women and children could live in freedom, not through privilege or status but as their right as free citizens.
Tears ran down his face leaving as Taanu bent down and gently brushes his fingers over the young girls eyes. Then angrily brushing the tears from his cheeks he abruptly stood up and walked towards the bar exit door with out looking back.
Providence would burn and the lost souls of Minmatar would feed the fire for all eternity. And He'd be there to watch them.

Boot's echoed off the empty walls as the tall Matari warrior walked down the corridoor. Around him, he could hear distant cheering, laughter and singing. A fight had even broken out as crew had scrambled out of the docking areas, but that was so often the Matari way. Kazan had paid it no attention. His mind was set on his destination.
People ran past him whopping as he strode purposefully along Deck 26. A lean Seibestor clipped his shoulder as he sped past, bounced of a wall and sprawled himself across the floor. Without breaking his stride, Kazan neatly stepped over him and continued his journey.
Eventually he reached a door and stopped. Slowly he unclenched his fist and he prised a small data key from the deep imprint it had made in his palm. Touching the key to a panel on the wall, the door slid open. Kazan held his breath.
He did not think it would work after all this time. The arrogange of the slavers gave them no reason to change any minor security codes. Why would Ushra'Khan ever be docked in 9UY again?
For a split second, Kazan didn't recognise his old quarters. Then he spotted the bent panels above what was now a dining area. The memory came back and Kazan rubbed his jaw. Padaxes had quite a punch for a scrawny little runt!
Years ago, that area had been his bar. He could no longer recall what they had been celebrating that evening, but like many celebrations it ended in a brawl. Kazan recalled dancing on the bar, someone had grabbed at him, there was a brawl and he had ended up launching Padaxes into the wall, buckling the panels around the vent system. Sykosys had tried to break the fight up, but Padaxes had managed to land a right hook on Kazan's jaw and he had gone down hard. Kazan's head had clipped the edge of the bar and he remembered no more until the morning. It had been a good night!
Kazan ran his fingers over the panels. They had been beaten back into shape, but the odd reflections from the lighting gave away their past.
With a loud grunt, Kazan picked up the dining table and launched it out into the corridor. This was swiftly followed by the chairs, each one slamming into the far wall and splintering. The bed was next and it didn't take long for him to clear the entire room.
Then he sat. In the same space that he had done every night since he had first docked at UNITY station all those years ago.
Crossed legged and with his head in his hands, he sat.
And he recited. The same words that he had recited every night since long before he had ever docked in UNITY station. The same words that he was taught as a young boy by his father.
Kazan recited the names of those he had lost. The names of ancient Khan's and tribesmen from home. The names of those who had shaped his past and who continue to shape his destiny. The names of those he had lost more recently, since leaving his home planet. As a boy the list would take no more than five minutes, less if he rushed. Now though, the list was twenty seven minutes long, and he no longer found cause to rush them.
Kazan called out each name in turn, and to each one, he offered his thanks.
