Didn't know where to post this, so I'll start here.
I'm looking for some tips/advice on organizing my corp hangars. I would like to keep T2 mods in a separate hangar from T1 stuff. I would also like to have each hangar organized by using several station containers (eg. hi slot / med slot / low slot).
That's no problem, but here's the kicker: I want all corp members to be able to take from the T1 station containers, but not take the whole fricken container from the hangar. I also want all corp members to see what's in the T2 hangar station containers, but only certain corp members to be able to take from them, and no corp members to remove the T2 station containers...
Is this possible? are there any good guides on how the access permissions work?
20 M ISK to the first person that can give me a workable solution :)
Thanks for reading! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [GNSTR] |

Yes, this is doable. What you will need to do is set up the Title system so that you have a title you can assign to members that gives them premission to query any hanger you want them to see in (though they can't see in cans if they only have query access). Then have them set for Take access for any hanger where you want people to be able to take things out of cans in the hanger but don't set it to Container Take or they will be able to take the entire can.
Personally, I have our corp set up so that most hangers are freely accessable (we have a fairly close-knit and trusting group), but we also have the HQ hanger and one division across all of the hangers set so that only Directors can take from it (so there's somewhere more secure to leave things you want to have something relitively locked down and away form wandering hands).
TL;DR Use Titles to enable changing all of the permissions for a group of people across the board at once Set permissions to Query to let people see into them (can't see in cans with just Query) Set to Take to let people take things from the hanger floor and inside containers Set to Container Take to let people take the containers in their entirety
If you have any other questions, please feel free to either reply to this or Mail me in-game and I'll do my best to help.

Thanks mxzf ! You solved half the problem. It's the part that I've quoted below that is giving me headaches..

For the hangar that I'm keeping the Tech 2 stuff in, I can't let certain corp members look inside the containers without also giving the ability to take from those containers. So I would have to have all the various Tech 2 mods on the hagar floor.. instead of neatly organized in containers.. :(
Well.. half the problem solved = 10 M isk sent ! Thanks! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [GNSTR] |

Yep, that's about the size of things from what I've found, though I'll likely take another poke at it today after class. One thing I will say in favor of leaving the restricted materials on the hanger floor: if the items are on the hanger floor, Directors will be able to Deliver them to people (both from that station and remotely through the corp assets interface). This means that you don't have to actually travel to the system in question to hand someone something they need, you can do it from right inside your mission or whatever.
Also, if you just have T2 mods in that hanger, I doubt you'll have too muchissues keeping things straight since there are only so many T2 mods you'll actually need to keep laying around for people to use (when was the last time someone needed a pile of T2 Rocket launchers for example? lol).

CCP access control was invented by a 5 year old on crack, so it really sucks and is awkward as hell. But what you want to do can be done.
What you want to do is grant "query" and "take" permissions to members to the particular hangar. Then you grab some station container/vaults and set up a configuration password and general password. Then configure the container so you only require the password to unlock items (and maybe also see the log). You lock all the items in the container and only give the password to members you want to be able to take from the container. Now you essentially have unlimited hangars that are password protected with audit logs. It works very well as long as you stick to NPC stations that have cheap station containers. The important thing is nobody has "container take" access to the hangar, otherwise you can take the entire can (for 2 years there was a bug that you couldn't open a container in a hangar w/o "container take", but that also allowed them to take the whole container. Thankfully that feature has been fixed). You also have to grant "config equipment" role in order for people to lock/unlock items in a container, but that role should be fine unless you anchor lots of conatiners in space (which you probably don't).
