I want to get better at PvP and in my previous failures, I find I have no way to learn from what I did wrong for the most part. So I figure what better way than to record my fights and watch them later?
I tried out fraps and the wegame client, but they lag my game up to the point where it is unplayable even in the lower quality recording modes.
Lowering my screen resolution isn't really an option as EVE is cluttered enough as it is 
System Specs: AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.4 ghz ATI HD 4890 2(2x2 gB) ddr3 1333 Plenty of free space
I honestly didn't see a lack of system power being an issue here but I could be wrong I suppose.
Would lowering game detail help here maybe? Does anyone have any suggestions or something I might have missed?

Though my drive array shouldn't be slow, I did not try this. I suppose I could have played with it a little more before asking for help but I figured I would see what you all use and how you did it.
I will try killing all background processes to see if that helps. Also, I will try dropping all detail and graphic settings down.
So what does the EVE community use for recording programs?

Edited by: zaneyard on 10/02/2010 01:08:25 I can play fine at pretty much max settings at 1920x1200 without any lag, aside from the stupid clouds of **** that lags supercomputers. I only notice a framerate drop when I activated Fraps' or wegame's recording function.
I'll try that Vsync thing later but I don't think i have Vsync turned on at all.
Can anyone confirm/deny the Fraps slowing down thing?

triple post lul, but for those who use fraps, the framerate you record in makes your game reflect that framerate. moved record framerate up to 60 fps, game only lowered to 60 fps
