Just MY thoughts to insurance removal.
I have never quite understood these justifications for the insurance.
When I was a newbie it didn't take long to work my way to my first frig with the rookie ship and starter missions. Hell, even mining in the rookie ship with a miner I got me enough isk to go by. Newbies shouldn't be flying expensive ships in any case so I just don't see this as a major problem. I'd think would actually boost the experience as the ships would mean a bit more to you.
What comes to PVP I understand that one might have to work a while longer to support their activities, but how many more level IV missions do you have to run to cover a T1 BS cost? Let alone a smaller ship...
The T1 ships aren't expensive even now and their prices should follow the demand if things go like you claim. Modules aren't covered by insurance in any case, ditto for T2 ships so the only thing one would have to cover for PVP is the 70% T1 ship price. Emoragequit, seriously?
I'm not going to start guessing how removing insurance might affect the market otherwise, but your arguments just don't hold water for me.
Well, these are just my thoughts on the insurance removal. Feel free to disagree.

I wrote myself a synopsis of this thread which I planned to post here. It got very long and I was really tired so in the end I just posted it on my blog here.
As this thread seems to be losing some of its momemtum I don't think I will repost it here (besides, I'd like some visitors  ). If you want to read what has been discussed here without going through the whole thread, please have a look.
If I have made any omissions (I know for instance that I wrote it before LHA Tawaras excellent suggestions on this page), feel free to comment.
