I thought the Gallante Navy only started shooting when you reached -5.0 with the Gallente Faction?

Train diplomacy. That will help.

Not exactly true. Faction Navy will attempt to attack you on sight, but the keyword is "on sight." You will receive a warning message when you enter Gallente space, but they do not act like Concord (i.e. they do not warp to you, insta lock/pop you).
Unless they changed it, the faction navy always webs then scrams, allowing for larger (battleships) to basically insta warp out. If you just sit there, yeah, you are probably going to get popped.
You can always get into the space and then ride along on a couple of missions to help improve your standing. ---------- while(horse==dead) { beat(); } |

Not correct as I'm -8.64 or so to Amarr.
The navy will not scram, only web you (unless a outlaw was next to you having a scrambling navy frig spawn).
If you warp to a safe they will follow you.
They do about 1k dps in a 1.0 system and will neut you dry in under 30 seconds.
As long as you are above -4.99 effective standing they will not touch you. So as long as you have above -7.99 and diplomacy 5 trained you are fine.

I stand corrected. However I will add that I enter Amarr 1.0 space all the time with a -9 and change standing, dock, undock, sit near a station (uncloaked), and generally live there for days on end, and have yet to even be targeted by faction navy.
I'll see them at the gates, but in a frig I warp off before I see cross hairs on my screen. ---------- while(horse==dead) { beat(); } |
