I run 4 accounts no issue
Win XP 2 gig ram Intel Dual Core 6700 @ 2.66GHz ATI Radeon HD 4850 DSL - 5meg 2x22" displays - 1920x1080 - EvE x4 accounts on the main screen - Netflix streaming through IE on the second display.
This tbh. Except in my case replace intel and ATI with AMD and nvidia equivalents.

I doubt 2GB run 4 clients without freezing at some point... you better upgrade to 4GB.
but yeah you dont need an i7 processor to play EVE... nor even a quad core. And a 4850 is outstanding for most current games, let alone EVE.

I haven't really had any issues so far. To be fair 4 accounts are used when mining. 3 accounts are fighting and general use. For the most amount of time its 2 accounts. But I haven't had any issue thus far.

You people recommending 3k in hardware to run eve are nuts.
I'm running 3 clients and it's using up *11%* of my CPU total (i7, 3.8 ghz). Before you go off on an i7 tangent fire up task manager and see just how little CPU this game uses. Also note that each client only uses 500M of ram.
I used to run 3 clients on a single core sempron with integrated video. A cheapie AMD dual core will handle 4 clients with ease. Dual GPU will not work well in windowed and multi-monitor mode mode, so don't bother going there.
My suggestion:
Dual core celeron up to $99 AMD quad, midrange or lower motherboard. $150-ish 4 gigs of ram. value stuff is fine. $70 GTS250 or 4850, 1G ram. $110. This game seems to like NV hardware more than ATI. PSU, case, HD, other misc: $200
There you go. $500 or so. If it won't run all 4 clients at 60 fps then add another just like it.
And in summary, bigger blobs are the answer. Now what was the question? |
