I thought "jumping" involves disassembling you and your ship into the ether for instantaneous transport to a far-off, distant, place. It uses its own fuel and engine system??
I too never understood why a cap can't "jump" after being pointed with a "warp" mod! If you can right-click and see "jump to..." in the context menu, that to me is a navigational "lock" to a cyno/JB and you should be able to disappear.
They should come up with an anti-jump mod that, perhaps, acts like both a web and point to physically keep your ship from getting beamed away.

mmm at first I was foaming at the mouth as well, but just think of the possibilities.
It's clear the OP has thought this through very well.
I've always wanted a small RRBS gang to be able to hold up an alliance fleet as long as one of them is alive with a point.
Or for that matter a bunch of throwaway frigates. How brilliant is that? Cloaked carrier stuffed full of rifters and 10 pilots hold an alliance fleet hostage. Yeah use 10m isk in ships to indefinitely disable a structure that costs hundreds of millions in logistics, upkeep.
That is WAY more balanced than 1 ship, 1 point.

Originally by: Dyson Veare Edited by: Dyson Veare on 13/02/2010 00:30:05 You just don't get it. Why should jamming a ship affect the ship? Why not have to jam the jump bridge instead. The mechanics are separate here and that's what your not getting, a jump bridge jumps you. Your ship isn't the one jumping you. So having a point on you stopping you at a jb actually is logically flawed.
JB uses fuel, jump bridge jumps you, ship has warp drives that its not using to jump. So therefore, flawed..
Obviously, your ship is jumping you.

Originally by: Dyson Veare You stupid ABSTARDS are not reading the point. The jump bridge is still jumping you, meaning it should be the target being scrammed, not your ship. The jump bridge is jumping you, therefor common sense would make it apparent that it would need to be jammed, not what its jumping. God how much more apparent do I have to make this observation to stupid for troll response kiddies.
I recognise this frustration, it's the frustration of complete dumbfoundedness, the complete feeling of injustice from what seems stupid.
You'll get this many times while playing eve, unfortunately playing Eve is like trying to assemble a piece of complicated machinery that came without instructions.
You may rip your hair out and may have to near enough start all over again but you'll remember and learn from your mistakes every time.
It's the main reason why everyone says, don't fly what you can't afford to lose, because there's so much to throw you off, losing your ship at least a few times, especially something different to what you're used to, it's an inevitability rather then just paying attention and being smart, you can't just assume something will make sense.
So my advice, suck it up and move on, or take a small break from eve as you'll feel better after a few days regardless.
