Hay i was just wondering where would i find faction drones? Are they a thing i get from the LP store or do i have to find them or are they a reward?

Faction drones are the next best thing next to Diet Quafe Ultra for Heavies or Sentries if you don't have the skills for T2 Heavy/Sentry (Say your skilled for Heavy T2, but need Sentry for long range and haven't trained them yet). They sure as hell are superior to to T1 heavy/sentry and more cost effective then split damage "augmented" drones. If you spend 8 million on a Meta 4 large gun, its the same for a faction drone though the drone is more susceptible to being destroyed and you can easily loose half of your gun racks if your ship is destroyed.

Well .. you could get the faction drones at the normal market, or you have to build them yourself using BP from LP Stores.
The Factiondrones got the benefit that they get a bonus from a skill called <YOUR FACTION> Drone Specialization.
This Skill than provides more damage to the drones of the faction type. So you could increase the Damageoutput ot the drones. But you would not gain any drones for spider or nosfer other players. There you could use the "simple" drones for doing the job.
So if you're planning to use faction drones you should really have a drone ship and done linking - beeing a drone fighter. Otherwise the skill and the drones are mostly waste of time and money - except you're planning to try to get some benefits combined.

lol shame on me, forgot that some people cant use T2 and might want to increase their drone damage  If T2 isnt an option then factions are really useful.

In the 3 weeks - 1 month that it takes to train Heavy Drone 5 + spec 4, or Sentry 5

Faction drones do have their advantages such as more HP and better tracking compared to t2. In terms of damage, they are halfway between t1 and t2 not counting skills. Not worth 50M isk for 5 imho, but that isn't to say they are worthless.

They also effect the T1 variants (ie, all drones of that race).
