Perhaps I can recommend amending The Mass Testing 2.0 Thread with ALL the required steps to access Singularity, as following the steps listed WILL ALWAYS result in failure to connect to Singularity.
The problem is not even obvious, the client gives the test server status as "incompatible", which is entirely confusing as following the instructions ensures you are using the latest, and presumably compatible, version.
It was not until after coping, patching and deleting my main EVE directory many times, then downloading the full Tranquility client installer and patching it, and finally removing that and reinstall it twice, before I figured it was nothing to do with me and so searched the forums, ending up here and finding the link to the Singularity wiki article, which gave me the information necessary to connect to Singularity.
Quite the oversight when attempting to get any and all players to participate in a mass test through the use of a news announcement.

# Create a shortcut for the new eve.exe file inside C:\evetest, # Right click on the shortcut and select properties, then select the Shortcut tab # add /server:87.237.38.50 for Singularity (it would be /server:87.237.38.51 for the test server Multiplicity) and press OK
The final look of the Target line would look something like this ( Different between client locations ) "C:\evetest\eve.exe" /server:87.237.38.50
without "
thats the correct path
C:\evetest\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50

got download of patch for singularity, then says uncompatible and to redownload singularity. deleted old singularity download and downloaded new one, but it got corrupted. had to re do the entire thing, and then it said my hard drive had no room left. removed both tranquility and singularity and then started from scratch. after multiple tried was able to get tranquility up and running but singularity is not working at all. have given up now and not knowing what to do. have checked forums, posted a petition as well.

Yep did all that and it tells me that C:\evetest\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50 is not a valad path. It does not like the /server:87.237.38.50 part for some reason. This is Windows 7 64-Ultimate.

Sisi not working for anyone else? Just downloaded a big 2600+MB patch, installed it successfully(apparently) and now I'm told it's an incompatible build?
Regular user of Sisi for 6 months btw, this is a new one on me. Is there a private test going on?

For those trying to patch apparently it does not patch to SiSi, instead it patches to Tranq. I've reinstalled test server twice, I've deleted twice, created a copy of my EvE folder and did the TQ to SiSi patch and nothing works, it all puts you in Tranq. So I guess that means I have Tryannis for Tranq before its released when I wanted test server. *shrugs*
Now before I finish are there any other methods to get to test server and can a CCP official explain why some of us might have a "Live" version of Tyrannis for the main server? And also for might be wondering no it doesnt work, it states incompatible even with latest SiSi patch.

After digging through the forum I found it. After installing the patch, you need to add /server:87.237.38.50 to the end of the shortcut on your desktop.

here you all go follow this
1.Create a separate folder for your test client ( i.e "C:\evetest") 2.Copy everything from your original EVE folder (by default located at "C:\Program Files\CCP" ) to the new ("C:\evetest"). This step is important, since patching the test client will render it incompatible with the Tranquility server. 3.Go to this webpage to download patches for Singularity 4.Download the "Download TQ to Singularity Patch" or the Multiplicity one if you are going to test on that server. 5.Apply the patch to the correct EVE installation such as "C:\evetest". You will be promted to point to the appropriate installation folder. 6.Create a shortcut for the new eve.exe file inside C:\evetest, 7.Right click on the shortcut and select properties, then select the Shortcut tab 8.add /server:87.237.38.50 for Singularity (it would be /server:87.237.38.51 for the test server Multiplicity) and press OK The final look of the Target line would look something like this ( Different between client locations ) "C:\evetest\eve.exe" /server:87.237.38.50 9.Then double click on the shortcut and log in.

Did this about 2 weeks ago and have been successfully using Sisi, however, when I tried to launch Sisi today I was greeted with a message saying I had to apply a newer file.
File downloaded, started to install then threw up an error saying that some of the files were corrupt and suggested I run repair tool.
Started to run the repair tool which got so far then Widowns reported that the repair tool had stopped working.
This then threw me into a loop of re-running the repair tool and it stopping working!
In the end I clicked on no when asked if I wanted to run the repair tool and was instead given a link to manually patch.
Downloaded the very large patch file, tried to run the patch file only to be greeted with a message saying the patch file was corrupt and patching terminated!
Can anyone explain what's going on? Am I the only one having problems applying latest patch to Sisi?

i am confused(easily done - i know) one test server sticky states: Current Singularity mirror:
Date when the copy was made: November 18th 2009 Date when the mirror was deployed: November 24th 2009
Next mirror estimation:
yet this sticky appears to indicate that a new mirror has now been applied - which is correct ? this account was started after the 18th on Nov so pointless downloading until a new copy is used on singularity therefore is it a new mirror or just an update of the Nov copy Many thanks

CCP Lemur - on other thread I asked if anyone knew where the latest 156293 - 156478 Mac patch for SiSi was. Your response was disbelief at dumb question and told to look at first sticky and first post and then stopped new posts on that thread.. And yes, seriously, I did check all links on eveonline first, I did google and could see no official patches.
My point was that your sticky thread and link seems outdated as it gives 156293 build at the latest and does not provide the 156478 Mac patch link yet... I was gonna say "hurry up and update your links CCP" but was trying to be polite about it ;p
If I am being really dumb and missed something, fair enough, apologies.. but on this occasion don't think I was being that unreasonable in asking politely for a reliable link
Many thanks to Capt Taffy who supplied a link on the other thread for my Mac download. That was all I was politely asking for.. Sheesh ;)

Dear CCP Lemur, please, don't underestimate your customers. Most of us are not dumb illiterate MMORPG freaks
I will reconstruct the events: 1. This morning SISI was not online, so I assumed that CCP was applying the server patches for Tyrannis 1.0.1. 2. When SISI went online later today I've tried to log in - no way, I've got INCOMPATIBLE BUILD status. 3. I had my TEST Client patched from build 154366 to build 156293 and it didn't work (INCOMPATIBLE BUILD). 4. Another player has posted unpublished link to the newest build - 156478 (Tyranys 1.0.1 according to the release notes of the installer), but it seems that this was the patch for Tranquility, not for SISI. So, I've got the same status - INCOMPATIBLE PROTOCOL
CCP, please sort out the mess with these patches and update your STICKY forum threads, so we really know what's up.
Cheers, Hawk

The thing is pretty simple:
when u (ccp) apply a nu patch on any server u should update the eve download sections with the nu patch BEFORE server is up and running again, ppl shouldn't need to look at any other website page to find the patch link
this is just my opinion.
and btw.... sisi went down about 1h ago for a critical issue... now it's on a nu version but still no updated links/info in download section

Just add support to comments made by Giennah
As of Now (Eve Time) 18:11 CCP Lemur would be hard pressed indeed to show how it is possible to patch from either 156293 (my sisi build ) or from the live client build (154366) without using third party links.
You need the 156293 û 156748 patch which is simply not available from CCPÆs Patches Page.
So if you have kept your sisi client up to date you are stuck, if you re-copy your live client , it will auto patch to 156293 you are stuck.
One third party site I visited has a list of patches û so simple
If CCP wish to encourage the community to participate in mass testing then the SISI client must auto patch period.

Broken.

Yep. Same here.
Same build.
Worked fine yesterday.
Bad Protocol today.
Looked in the manual patch - no patch for this version.
Copied TQ to another dir, changed Server pointer ( /server:87.237.38.50), Came up, offered to patch, patched - took me to the version I had yesterday.
Apparently there is no patch for the version, 165711 that worked yesterday to what's on the server now.
