Ravens, CNRs, Domis, Apoc's, Geddons,Tyhpoons... But which of these Battleships have on average the most DPS ( Damage Per Sec).
Ive heard the tyhpoon is really good, and the Nightmare and CNR.
But what battleship on average has the best DPS with T2 Fitted Modules in your opinion? |

If you shield tank and pimp it, it would be around 2000 dps with drones and heat (up to 2300 dps if you'd use void - but that's an EFT warrior fit anyway) . But yeah - from a practical perspective, it would be the mach. morons-áare recruiting. We're good at breeding! |

1.5k dps gun dps... at blaster range, lol
Mach is around 900 dps, slowly decrease over 70km falloff. Dps loss due to tracking is much smaller than other guns.
NM is 1k Tach dps for up to around 45km optimal, subject to tracking loss, but alleviated by NM tracking bonus, drops off over the next 35km falloff. |

Maybe the question you should be asking first is; what am I going to use this battleship for?
Followed by the question; how much isk do I have to invest in my new battleship sized coffin?
Perhaps to answer this you should look at either "dps per isk". Maybe you should create an index for a scale on "versatility enagagement envelope". Or perhaps you should have a piece of toast trying to think of a third alternative suggestion to solving the conumdrum you've presented.... wait, don't do that. That's what I'm doing.
Let me know how you get on.

Absolute top as said is the vindicator but it has such terrible range, I don't consider it the best DPS BS nor do most others. So excluding that (and similar ships like the navy mega), you have a few options to choose from. A pulse navy geddon with sentry drones puts out a very impressive 1300-1400 dps with t2 gear and 5% hardwirings and it does it without turning into a glass cannon. The CNR is also a favorite, able to pump out about the same. The macherial only puts out average dps (1000-1100) but it's massive falloff bonus and high mobility make applying that dps much easier, and thus it tends to feel like it has a lot more punch than it really does. For a straight t1 ship, the standard geddon I think gets top marks. It's every bit as ganky as the navy version, it just doesn't have the extra drone space for utility and it's a fair bit squishier. Still no glass cannon though. |

Protip: NM and Abaddon have the same DPS and same drone bay. NM is 7 m/s faster though.
A Torp/AC Phoon takes alot of skills to be able to use to be even remotely near its full potential... but if you have excellent missile, gunnery and drone skills + Minmatar BS @ 5, and you are in a small fleet with tacklers and some TP's, then you can apply all that 1600 or more DPS (standard T2 fit, up to about 2100 with faction stuff).
Phoons are way fun cause they are very fast, cheap as hell, and spit out insane DPS. |

Thing is: "paper numbers"
Why? -how many chances do you have to be on top of your target and apply said dmg at 100%?
I'd rather fly some Phoon and be able to apply it's dps from far distances than 2k 30sec cause I'm already in the hull the moment i can apply this theoretical dmg and assuming the phoon pilot is afk ...
Chances are that your 1B+ space pinata is a "call to gank " leaving very small chances he will survive in regular fight conditions, sure if you pick the usual grievers with ecm/logis combo vs newbs or miners/indy's who can't even full T2 fit a t1 cruiser... |

Actually, that's what I said with 'EFT warrior fit' and the reason I said the Machariel was the most powerful BS - agile and fast as a BC, great range and easily hits 1400 dps using a reasonably priced fitting.
The problem is the OP asking for the 'most powerful BS' in the topics header and for the highest DPS BS in the post, which is obviously not the same under most circumstances. morons-áare recruiting. We're good at breeding! |

Forget circumstances, whats the best dps for isk ship. For example a t2 fitted CNR is pretty hard to beat. the mach is clearly a good ship, but not the one for the job. and the nightmare sounds like a very good pos basher, but not as good as the poon. The Vinni is the beast thanks alot. |

For a reasonable fit, you can do a weird sentry typhoon:
[Typhoon, SentryPhoon] Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Large Armor Repairer II Large Armor Repairer II Ballistic Control System II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link I Omnidirectional Tracking Link I Cap Recharger II Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Wrath Fury Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Wrath Fury Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Wrath Fury Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Wrath Fury Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Wrath Fury Cruise Missile [empty high slot] [empty high slot] [empty high slot]
Large Sentry Damage Augmentor I Large Sentry Damage Augmentor I [empty rig slot]
Garde II x5 Hobgoblin II x5 Hornet EC-300 x5
This is 700 DPS at all Vs with no implants or boosters (down to 625 if you use T1 missiles.) This is setup for 745 DPS tank vs Serpentes with the cap booster running. This whole setup is probably under 100 mil.
For an unreasonable fit, you can neglect your tank to free up the CPU and powergrid needed to stick on torps and auto-cannons. Alternatively you could even do a blaster Dominix. Both the Dominix and Typhoon are capable of dishing out a lot of damage because they can sport a full fleet of heavy or sentry drones with a lot of guns while both ships are fairly inexpensive in the world of battleships. . |

Also, thank you for insulting every PVPer that's read this thread by assuming we don't know what DPS means.
I'll give you an answer right now. There isn't a single battleship that outperforms every other battleship in every situation. It depends tremendously on what you're trying to do before you decide which is the best. |

"In rust we trust" : Typhoon
Cheap Solid Versatile Dmg selection Snipe/brawler Huge drone bay More pg/cpu than you need to fill all mods Strong bait Agile Fun for logis/neut BS
But:
Needs a lot of tank/guns/drones/missiles skils
If you look for something versatile and will always give your for your iskies this one is just awesome, plus looks a lot better than the slow brick Domiwhale
If you like awsome looks then look about Machariel (shield or armour versions, arty or autos versions) or, Bhaalgorn: this one should be cheaper !! I'd like to buy some dozens ;o

Not using EFT at all but actual experience since i've owned:
Machariel. bhaalgorn. nightmare. paladin. navy mega. fleet typhoon. fleet tempest. kronos.
Most of these are very good ships and i did splurge on good fittings for all of them, but the vargur edges them all out, in some cases by slim margins, but it's there just the same, but this is only the opinion of a pilot with 160 million sp, so take it for what it is... |

Assuming the vargur is one getting jammed and that what we're talking about is either solo pvp or small scale fights with only a few ships in either side, i completely agree there and it can be an issue if the ship doing the jamming has the right type fitted in the first place.....Lot's of if's and but's to say the least.
It's kinda hard to find small scale fights where both sides are using equal numbers these days though....
In any case,i was talking about straight damage output and tanking ability primarily, along with speed that only a machariel can beat, and can still carry a good drone bay and autocannons that can hit to 70 kms quite easily, and do all damage types depending on what the target is too.....It is a pain to train all the skills needed to make it shine, but once they are, look out. |
