How bout givin us a new server since you all never bothered to stress test the damn expansion ?
That or start replacin all the ships we are losin due to EXCESSIVE lag.. lag that wont permit you to do any actions and than when it lets up you see yourself in a pod.
Not everyone has been playin EVE as long as some of these people.. so I cant afford to be replacing my cruiser.
Great expansion... pathethic launch and testing on it :(

It wouldn't hurt you to exercise some common sense. Never leave station if you're getting bad lag.
CCP can't protect you from yourself... |

/SIGH
It's totally random in majority of people's cases.
Sorry to burst your bubble :(
One minute your fine eveyrhting works perfect and your as happy as can be... next your in limbo.............
Don:t gimmie your high horse sh**... I'd be willing to wager 75% of the pop is experiencing this so get over it.
Since the autopatcher is causing alot of the lag...... take it down? let people manually download patches off the website...... would free up alot of bandwidth.

Edited by: JLobes on 26/11/2004 23:30:32 Cuz i like paying 12 a month instead of 15 to compensate for costs incured fo a new server, server building, bandwidth and setup fees, and i think you do too. Petition, dont whine on the forums, because the devs/GMs mite care, but we dont.

Nobody is going to take you seriously when you start calling other people names - describing CCP as ignorant is both inaccurate and rude.
Let's assume for a minute that the auto-patcher is disabled, less than PC-literate users are going to have problems manually applying the patch. I'm betting CCP want to take care of all their players, although it looks like they're definitely out to get you I'm afraid. |

No.. its a whine.. when you cry about not being to replace a cruiser because the group of people working on this wonderful game for you to play aren't perfectly to your liking and can't prevent lag at every random time that it may occur. The launch of an expansion of this size is a huge undertaking. It has gone very smoothly considering that. People have been stating on the forums for weeks that they expect it to be laggy and buggy for the first few weeks. That's how it is with MMORGP's and expansions. If you failed to listen to this advice, you have no room to complain. Every time you enter space you are taking a risk, and you accept that risk. As someone said, petition, they might care, we do not. Do you think we LIKE the lag and bugs? No, we do not. But we understand that this is temporary and are willing to be more careful until it is resolved. Allow them more than 5 days to sort out the issues please. They have done an excellent job so far, and I suspect they will get a handle on this soon. If you do not have the patience to wait, suspend your account for a month and come back then. Leave a long skill training on and take a break.

Not that I'm supporting Praetorien's attitude (towards CCP and the people posting here) but surely we have no option in this matter? And thus we have plenty of room to complain. It's not like we were given the option to upgrade, and could have stayed on EVE if we wanted... we had to upgrade from EVE to Exodus and several people have gone from a game that worked perfectly well to a game where you can't leave dock for fear of crashing and being podded.
I have taken the path of setting long skills and getting on with some non-EVE work ;) but I don't think we should all sit in benign silence whilst they work out the bugs on the time we're paying for.
It's a moot point either way - they will need time to fix it and we'll have to wait. At least if we complain the worry of losing customers might get them to put a bit more speed/money/effort into fixing the problems ;)

you can't use the size of the expansion as an excuse for poor performance. the size of the expansion IS the problem. there's no reason at all to have introduced all of this crap at once, especially since most of it is unconnected functionality. they could very easily have just rolled in the market, tested it, rolled in new agent missions, tested it, etc. anyone can roll out a huge pile of poorly tested **** and call it a major expansion.
i blame CCP's marketing department, if anyone. i'm sure the engineers didn't want to take a bite this large.
CCP: KEEP IT SIMPLE, KEEP IT STABLE. the "ships destroyed in the last 24 hours" map display and the frazzled state of the GMs right now has hopefully taught you guys an important lesson.
also, don't release damn expansions on a major US 4-day holiday when we don't have anything better to do than sit around and complain about Eve. that's just asking for trouble.
also, i think CCP needs to make it easier to test things on the test servers. there needs to be plenty of everything available for testing, not just in one station way out in BFE. i would have loved to have given l4's a better test, but once you lose a BS on the test server, you're not getting it back.

I happen to agree with Praetorian about the exodus launch, as I have written in another thread: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited by: Gardavil on 30/11/2004 10:20:49 At least some of you guys can get ingame to start new skill training, I (and others) can't even get past the "entering station" window after character selection.
I have only been a player since 26 october, and the game ran great for me til the expansion.
At this point I wish Exodus had not been released, not because I object to the new stuff and UI's, but cause I am not convinced that enough testing was done prior to launch.
NOTE TO SELF: next time the Dev's ask for help to test a new expansion with open beta, no excuse's, just do it.....maybe, just maybe......... and this is NOT whining...I have not cancelled my subsciption or given up............but it is becoming obvious to me that I may never again enjoy this game the way I used to, and that is a shame.

Why is it that some forum members jump at you when you speak about about game lag and broken features that are directly caused by the EXODUS update?
Who exactly is responsible for the EVE infrastructure? Is it me? I certainly hope not.
I am paying money to access services that CCP provides. If CCP reduces the quality of these services without compensation, then aren't I entitled to voice my concern?
It is astonishing how some people blindly defend the state the game is currently in out of some sort of misplaced loyalty. Even to the point of suggesting that you refrain from undocking to avoid problems.
Excuse me. Are you serious? Not undock? I mean, this is a space game, isn't it? Or did I misunderstand the screenshots on the eve-online.com web site?
Personally I am not interested in how hard CCP is trying to make it work - I am an end user so I don't have to care. That's why they get money and I pay money.
So get off your high horses people and demand to get what you are paying for. It's not unreasonable.

i have another idea:
let people, like, any people, play for free on the test server. just leave it as an open game without any signup requirements. delete all the player assets every couple of months or something.
at least you'll get all the internet cheapos testing the ballzak off of the game for you.
