Ever since one of the last patches (in the past week), my EVE is constantly crashing whenever i do something like click on a planet in the overview, scroll through the overview or just a random crash to desktop when i am traveling or being in a station (or anything, really). I have tried the following: - complete reset of all ingame options to default - deleted all the cached data trough the launcher settings several times - tried doing a full repair through the even launcher several times - uninstalled the entire game, restarted PC, re-downloaded from CCP website and reinstalled.
However nothing has helped fix the constant crashes - i again note that the game was working perfectly for about 3 or 4 days and, after a patch update, the constant crashes began. My CPU and GPU temperatures are constantly around 60-65 C (monitored by Speccy). Running on Windows 7 32 bit Home premium, I have no problems in any other games. Tried disabling Kaspersky IS 2012, but it did not help.
Here is the crash report, and i put a dxdiag below it.

I really do not want to be rude, but my subscription/money is being wasted while EVE is randomly crashing every day (usually within a few minutes after logging into my character) - so i hope that you are able to swiftly find a solution to this issue. |

I think I may have the same issue. Crashes happen mostly during session changes and I am using win 7 x64. I may do a crash report/log if it persists but I am working at the moment so I am just not willing to put in the time to try fixes- I just play other games. |

While i am sad to hear someone else is suffering from the same/similar issue, i am a bit relieved to hear that it is not "just me".
I am rather puzzled as to how can CCP release patches that literally wreck the game and prevent paying subscribers for accessing EVE for who knows how long... |

Can you describe how eve is crashing?
I'm getting frequent client-freezes while doing basic actions (like showing Blueprint info) and the client just freezes and stops responding. |

I got random disconnection too, either with 1 or 2 clients running, no matter what activities i was doing. This is exactly the same issue as when Incarna was launched.
Just out of curiosity, where do you guys located? I'm from Sydney, Australia. 'Coz lots of oceania EVE players got this issue too.

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing these crashes - hopefully we can get these resolved quickly.
Please try running with the LogServer and file a bug report, attaching the log. Put my name in the header of the bug report so it gets to me quicker and I'll take a look.
If a crash dump is generated it will probably have been uploaded to our servers already - the log should indicate that, and will tell you where the dump file is located on your hard drive. If the log does not indicate a successful upload you should attach the dump file to the bug report as well so I can take a look at it.
While the crash dumps are sometimes enough for us to work out why EVE crashed, often getting logs and/or a description of what you were doing when EVE crashed is crucial for us to be able to address the issue.
I appreciate your patience with this issue and hope we get to the bottom of this quickly. |

I believe I'm experiencing the same issue. Since the recent updates, the client keeps crashing after undocking or jumping thru gates. On some of the undocking client crashes, I can see the outside space view and the overview will show, but the ship and/or station will not render which then freezes, and I get the CCP EXE File has stopped working. This also happens to either client I have running, regardless of both or just one is running. The other client toon only flies Gallente so it is not just trying to render the new Minmatar ships graphics. For me, this make playing EVE not possible as an industrialist as I obviously need to dock/undock quite frequently. |

What's your graphics card, driver version, operating system? Doesn't seem to be Win 7 in general, as mine (x64) is running fine. Looking for more thoughts? Read http://aethlyn.blogspot.com/ or follow me on http://twitter.com/Aethlyn. |

Every member of my corp in the wormhole we live in is experiencing this issue in one form or another. Especially if we run two clients on one machine (happens on both my computers so its not a hardware problem. Its mostly present whenever we switch ships at the pos. The client in question will freeze. You will see the ship you just exited floating in space instead of in the SMA where its supposed to be, and you will be in the ship you meant to board. However- after that- you cant do anything. At least on the screen, if you tell your ship to move, it will... you just cant SEE it on the screen.
Then the fun begins. When you close the client (cause waiting for it to catch up doesn't work) it takes in excess of 4 minutes to relaunch the client. This is ONLY after the latest expansion. |

You know, I run 5 clients almost every day. I haven't had my system falter even once even with these patches. I'm wondering...
I don't have UAC on. I'm running windows 7 x64, 8gb of ram, I have a 4870x2 with 2gb of ram. I have all 5 clients set to memory optimization with the anti aliasing turned off.
Hope this post helps. |

I'm also getting lock ups that can vary from 1/2 an hour after i started the game to several hours in.....It locks up so badly that trying to bring up task manager in windows 7 64bit doesn't even work, so i have to restart the whole system, and it's a problem that's been there since inferno launched, and i tried the repair tool and clearing the cache and downloading a fresh client, and it's still the same problem.
I also tried several driver sets for my video cards and both the lockups are still there, and when i manage to quit the game normally, i get a driver stopped responding and has recovered message on the windows desktop, and eyefinity hasn't been working for a few months now that i mention it( the game refuses to even start in eyefinity), yet it used to with a much older driver set and using the same video cards, but this was before the inferno expansion was released.....It's been a mess since then. |

We are investigating one crash that happens when FXAA is turned on. We're working with Nvidia to determine the cause and see if we can come up with a fix, either in EVE or the Nvidia driver. For now, I'd recommend turning off FXAA in the Nvidia control panel. |

I have an Nvidia card and I am having the same issues with frequent lock-ups. Was not a problem until the past week or so. Hope its fixed by the time I come back from vacation!!!
edit: Interestingly enough, one of the things that makes it lock up most frequently or even just go into a nose dive is when I am in a location with turrets firing at me. |

I'm using ATI HD7970's in my case, and the problems with crashing have been going on for a couple of months now, even though i used several driver sets, and in eyefinity triple display mode, the game doesn't start since inferno was released.... |

I also got game freezes where my client locked but I knew from ts channels that my ship was still going where it was before the freeze, sometimes if I just sit there it unfreezes but rarely. That issue seemed to be caused mostly when I landed from warp or went into it, usually around pos sheilds or gates. Now that has stopped and it has started closing the socket randomly, its so annoying when in pvp especially. And like everyone else it has also only started since a patch from inferno!!!! Its enough to make you want to quit sometimes. |

Out of curiosity - are yall also working with someone from AMD/ATI for optimizations for customers with that hardware as well? |

I tried disabling AA and it still crashes and also disabling audio, but there's no difference....I did bring up the log file and in the last tab, there were a fair amount of errors relating to graphics effects not being in the resource file when they were needed, and a lot of warnings relating to missed ID's for ships when firing on them. |

I get to the point where the game is stable enough to play up to 2 hours at most, then it'll crash and after going thru everything i can think of, i'll download a fresh copy since the current one was installed just before the inferno expansion was released and there's been 15 patches in the last 6 weeks, plus the missing file errors relating to graphics like clouds in certain missions that take a split second to apear in the angel pirate mission lvl 4, or asteroids that also take a couple of seconds to show up in the recon mission lvl 4 at the second room.
I have 24GB of memory and cards with 3GB of ram in each one, and also using SSD's in raid 0, so graphics errors like this shouldn't be showing up.... |

Downloaded a new client today, wich while i'm at it, is already a 4.8GB download and so out of date relative to the current TQ client, that there's nearly 3GB of updates to do on it, so it's closer to an 8GB download in practical terms.
Anyhow having said that, the game still locks up in eyefinity when i was in my quarters nearly instantly after i start the game, so back to a single screen i go and it works fine in quad crossfire, and i no longer have the driver stopped responding and has recovered error, when i quit the game and return to the windows desktop anymore, so there's at least that to be happy about.
I'll play the game later tonight and see if i can play for more than 2 hours without a lockup(crosses fingers) and keep the log running to see if errors show up..... |

Game is still unstable in Quad crossfire using a single screen, and i dropped down to triple crossfire and i managed to play the usual 2 hours before it completely freezes the system, so now i'm trying it with just 2 cards enabled and it hasn't crashed yet.
Since i have more than enough memory and i only run a single client anyhow, i also disabled LOD and the resource cache management check box options.....If the game is stable, then i'll try triple crossfire once again.
The one thing that is still there and has been since inferno was released, is the display driver stopped responding and has recovered message when i quit the game and see that on the windows desktop, and it's been happening with every driver AMD released in the last couple of months.....So i spoke too early in my previous post.
Eyefinity used to work with the crucible expansion, but it just won't with inferno.... |

I've lost two ships to the issue so far. Client only freezes visually, seems everything else is working, including neocom buttons (almost undocked myself in unfriendly nullsec but, by frantically hitting where the abort button should be i think i lived.) While losing my ships I was able to still hear everything. This is a very cruel bug.
bug report # 140368 just in case it helps to see the issue.
I do have to take issue with the entire log server idea. The thought that we as customers should have to find and run a separate program each and every time we play and that without doing so, should anything happen, we would not be reimbursed or helped, is preposterous and quite frankly, bad programming. A program should be made to be properly verbose or have a client side session log that is removed after a day or two. Considering all the resources that the client already consumes, one that makes it easier on us as players to show evidence that something went wrong is a worthwhile courtesy. |

Out of interest what hardware do people have that are experiencing this issue?
I have 2 machines that I play eve on. My works laptop and my home computer. At home I have an intel i5 CPU and Nvidia graphics card and can play without the crashes but I do get crippling FPS after about an hours play.
This laptop however has an AMD tri core CPU and ATI Radeon graphics card. It's well above min spec to play eve and can handle the strain but since yesterdays update it is crashing as most people in this thread are describing.
Am wondering if something was added to the last update that is incompatible with ATI cards. Wormhome Navigation - http://www.staticmapper.com Industrial Management - http://industry.darkshadowindustries.com |

I've had an incredibly hard time staying connected to EVE in fleets after the 1.16 update. I crash consistently while jumping through gates and after the 1.17 update I crash on cynos and in fleet combat. It's not practical for me to babysit the logserver while I'm trying to log back into a fleet engagement.
Prior to 1.16 I've not had a single problem with EVE and crashing. Fight us, maybe? |
