Good to hear you guys are coming to the UK but damnit, Newcastle? you did that on purpose didnt you? I worked for a videogames publisher in the southwest and our office closed a couple of weeks ago damnit, itd have been perfect but you couldnt be further away and still in the country :*(

they also have a office in slough which apparently is a support / admin kinda deal. yet i believe they outsource their accounting function, so not sure what exactly they do there lol

The reason they probably chose Newcastle is that it's a bit of a hotspot for new media companies, I worked there a few years back for a new media company and found that there are quite a few set up around that city.
Might look for a job in Newcastle again, loved living there, especially wandering dcwn to Jesmond for breakfast on a Sunday morning

To me (as a Dutch person who worked there for 6 months) the Geordies were only a problem in Jesmond on Saturday nights, showing everything and more... (which is bad when they hit 40+)
And about having breakfast in Jesmond... I rather enjoyed the fish & chips in Tynemouth, at the priory

I can also highly recommend the Carriage in Jesmond, don't know many places you can have a good curry in a train carriage right next to a pub.

Well it's obvious by this evidence that they did little research, I mean if they only used a statistic as the basis for where to set up a studio they wouldn't need to do any other work on what would make a good place to set up shop would they?

id love to see some game companies open up shops in the Northeastern US. they all seem to goto seasonless states.(and no i do not count getting down to 40f as a change to Winter)

sounds good to me, upstate NY perhaps? although I guess the whole taxes thing would be a deterrent. but hey, there is one hell of a talent pool in the area.
