Any half-decent implementation of ship customization would allow other people to turn it off. Considering that people who regularly participate in large fleet battles tend to fly with practically barebone settings I really can't see an issue for them beyond having another feature to opt out of. However, CCP has repeatedly given a proper reason for not implementing it: the engine. It's simply not feasible to have a texture customization feature the way the graphics are generated at present. -----

Ships are presumably named after what they look like or bear certain similarities too, i.e. the "scorpion" tale on the old scorpion. The new scorpion looks like someone went up to an internet spaceships artist and said "make a scorpion." Which is probably exactly what happened. Don't get me wrong, I love the style, the aesthetics, it's just that it looks like a transformer.

I would risk that, given they orginally went way overboard on making many things not symmetrical. I would say that most prefer overall symmetry, but not perfect symmetry. Non-symmetry seems to be any easy way to make things look alien, since it appears so odd and out of place.

Focusing the art team on... art... is not going to affect how much time is spent on balancing by the game design team. War is not about dying for your faction, its about making the enemy die for theirs.

The current harbi has one turret on the top, and one on the side. just put both on the side, or one on the top and the bottom.
