Is there any thing like the Invention Chance Calculator for reverse engineering? I have looked through old posts and the guides in the stickies but can't seem to find any generally agreed on figures for success rates that account for all the different variables. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty much just like the Invention formula, without the base item metaLevel and decryptor mod.
Reverse_Chance = Base_Chance * (1 + (0.01 * Reverse_Engineering_Skill_Level)) * (1 + (0.1 * (Datacore_1_Skill_Level + Datacore_2_Skill_Level)))
Base is: Wrecked = 20% Malfunctioning = 30% Intact = 40%

WOW thanks a ton for the info. I was really in need of the modifier numbers, but the formula on hand helps too. And thanks to the Op, I was just now about to write this exact thread, and someone does it for me :P

Could I just double check something though? Datacore skill levels added together and multiplied by 0.1 rather than 0.01?
So with lvl 5 RE and datacore skills you have a 63% chance of success with a malfunctioning relic?

i believe the base chance is:
Wrecked: 20% Malfunctioning: 25% Intact: 30%
Afaik the base chances arent documented but this comes pretty close to what my RE jobs success rate is __________________________________________________

That is correct. They need to be higher than for invention, since there is no meta items to boost the factor.
And for the documentation. Assuming chruker's site uses updated data dumps: http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/market.php?group_id=1149
Each item has a stat called "Base Reverse Engineering Chance". This is shown as 20%/30%/40%

Edited by: BaronZemo II on 04/03/2010 04:21:21 So, unless I did my math wrong OR Im missing a piece, someone explain why Im only getting 44.928% calculated chance with the intact relic at 40%, and all level 4 skills. Thank you :) EDIT: UGH.. Right after I post this I figure out what I was doing wrong. Thanks again guys.
