The camera begins panning out across the bustling camp. Deshat's voice can be heard in a voice over, speaking softly.
"We are currently in time of trouble. Times of trouble demand the greatest of servants for he finet of our warriors..."
The camera flips to a shot of Deshat surrounded by a mixed group of slaves, bowing, all clothed in little more than (rather skimpy) undergarments. The chains from their collars run up to Deshat's outstretched hand.
"So come to Mehatek Slave Market 22 - now open in Ohide! Where we'll find whatever, or rather whoever, you need."
Deshat starts to walk, passing one display platform. On it, two large men appear to be engaging in a no-holds-barred sparring match, blows raining equally on both.
"A bodyguard to protect you without fail throughout the day? Our slaves recieve extensive training in both hand-to-hand combat and almost every weapon known to the Empire!"
Deshat continues walking. Eventually they arrive in front of a man who appears to be rapidly disassembling and reassembling a field power generator.
"But that isn't all we offer in training! Any special subject? Any kind of specialized training? Our high-class insructors will make sure your potential crew or assistant perform flawlessly."
Deshat beings walking again, coming upon a team of shackled slaves pulling at a metal beam emerging from a wall. As Deshat speaks, the beam begins to bend under the slaves' collective strain.
"But sometimes you don't need skills. Sometimes, you need raw power. Between our specialized training regimen and unique drug enhancement techniques, we'll be sure to provide all the raw muscles you could ever want."
The camera spins around, revealing another platform. On this platform three women, again dressed in gowns that leave little to the imagination, dance with grace and beauty.
"Or perhaps you need a little something to help you relax after a long day, or a personal servant to attend to your needs? You'll never find such quality anywhere else in the cluster!"
The camera angles down, showing one of the dancing girls wrapped around a smiling man, cooing softly to him, one arm inside his shirt.
"Or maybe you want I very personal servant? Well, we can help you with that too."
The camera angle switches back to Deshat, slowly zooming in on her. "But you ask, why bother? There are hundreds of other dealers, thousands of other markets, why bother with us? Well, there may be, but how many of them operate on an effectively on-order basis? We can fulfill any request you have, get stock from anywhere in the cluster, and locate a servant of any age for you."
Deshat slaps a whip in her palm. "And you needn't worry about disloyalty - all our offerings know who they serve, and know the consequences if they do not." Deshat cracks the whip. "Unless you like the task of breaking them yourself, in which case our new location in Ohide allows us easy access to Heimatar and Derelik, so we can deliver them fresh from the capture, with the fight still in them."
The camera zooms in on Deshat's face. "We do sincerely hope you will consider Mehatek Slave Services for all your needs!"
(( Channel name is 'Mehatek Slave Market 22' for those who did not get it. ))

Yet one more previously unknown face in New Eden, with a curiously empty Concord record. Quite impressive claims from someone who only just got their pilot license... mind telling who does the actual dirty work? I noticed the corporation doesn't actually have other podpilots employed.

I am fully aware that I am new to the interstellar scene.
Mehatek Slave Service, however, is not. Although I am the first capsuleer to be employed by the corporation, MHASS has been a relied-upon operation for years, and has been passed down from my father to myself.

You know, sometimes I long for the halcyon days of slavers claiming that it's all in the slave's spiritual best interests. I can deal with the idea of a misguided individual subjecting his or her fellow human beings to slavery for what they perceive as noble reasons. It at least carries the comfort of believing there's a noble motive there, and the possibility of reasoning and talking the slaver around to a better way.
Dressing your slaves up like the sleazier variety of Gallentean holo-star and objectifying them like this just makes it clear that you have no respect or concern for the people you own. You're out for the money and nothing else, which is a whole different league of abhorrence. Any legal Imperial slave owner would stay well clear of your operation, and the white side of the law elsewhere in the cluster doesn't permit slavery at all.
You're scum selling to scum, and when you finally burn for your crimes, I hope that your god hears your pleas for mercy and laughs at you. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Deshat people like you give Amarrians a bad name. I urge that you reconsider treatment of your slaves including proper clothing for starters. It's treatment like this that causes terrorist groups like Ushra'Khan to continue to gain support and recruits.

You sounds more like a slave trader in the employ of the Angel Cartel than an Amarrian to be honest. I have some former experience in the slave trade myself, and let me warn you that any Amarrians who run prostitution rings this openly find themselves in the cleansing pits sooner rather than later. The Theology Council tends to be rather... disapproving of your type of business ethic.

Cracking whips at shackled men held by chain collars while telling them that they are highly trained in hand-to-hand combat and almost every weapon known in the Empire does not make for a compelling sales pitch for bodyguards.
Also, with your slaves likely to murder you if given the chance, the freedom fighters likely to murder you if given the chance, and most sane Amarr slave holders likely to have you disappear when given the chance, I surely hope you negotiated a volume discount on cloning contracts. ____

"Fresh from the capture", had better mean that they are recently convicted criminal persons, sentenced to slavery.
Otherwise, Heideran's Laws are being broken.
That said, many Holders are unrighteous fools, abandoning their Duty and wallowing in wealth while their subjects struggle. I would not be surprised to hear of this sort of thing being popular amongst the decadent.

Indeed, I would go further and say that the treatment these slaves recieve is not far off that which they would expect to get from some Sani Sabik cults.
The slaves do not appear to have been treated in accordance with SPCS guidlines, and I would urge people to not purchase thier slaves from Mehatek.

There is a sound of foot steps, assisted by the rhythmic tapping of what sounds like a cane. Deshat can be heard asking him if she can help him with anything. After short introductions and talking, William can be heard offering to allow Deshat to free the slaves into his custody in exchange for not burning the place down. After a short discussion, a number of footsteps are heard, and William is laughing. He says something about so many guards for a cripple, limps around, and laughs again. A few moments later, he's either screaming or laughing. It is very hard to tell which it is. He's still making smart-aleck comments, though, as Deshat orders the guards to pick him up. At some point, he asks if the slaves are criminals or recently captured. The answer is "neither". There is discussion of legalities, and a threat of charging him with several murders, assault, and attempted armed robbery, which he laughs at. Then there's the threat of charges of attempted theft (still coming from Deshat), terrorist activities, and assault. He points out he's innocent of two of them, and the one he's guilty of is technically attempted robbery. She calls him slave several times, and the recording ends. *** FILE END *** *SPLUD* |

Deshat peers into the camera, looking at once both amused and annoyed.
ôSo I go to sleep, and wake up to discover that the cluster apparently has no sense of humor! Did you really believe we were using slaves for such improper acts? Mehatek Slave Services has been in operation for over sixty years; it was my GrandmotherÆs business before my fatherÆs before mine. Could we have gone on so long and built such a widely-respected organization if we were committing such grave and serious sins? Hah! While we do offer slaves for personal entertainment, their skills end at dancing, singing, or sports, and all are trained in the finest of classical Amarrian studies, not, as it was said, ælike some sleazier variety of Gallente holo-star.Æö
ôAs to the claims that we are not providing satisfactory spiritual guidance, there are no less than ten full-time priests and priestesses employed at our newest facility. These, along with a myriad of other staff, allow for our entire stock population to attend one prayer service a day, with another extra service open for those who wish to attend or who are showing need for greater spiritual enrichment by acting out and disobeying.ö
Originally by: Merdaneth Cracking whips at shackled men held by chain collars while telling them that they are highly trained in hand-to-hand combat and almost every weapon known in the Empire does not make for a compelling sales pitch for bodyguards. ôYou will note that the men sparring were not chained in any fashion. It is rather pointless to chain one who needs to be able to move so freely, no? And further, I would point out that no whips were cracked at them, and never, ever, ever in our years of operation have we ever had a bodyguard go bad on us! Ever! I would suggest, sir, that you check our records before making such accusation, or at least come to observe the operation yourself! Hmmph!ö ôNext, as to the man William. He came to our market and proceeded to be violent and aggressive, even when I explained matters to him, and had to be stunned and detained by security. Most unfortunate, but what can we expect from a man who used to fight for the Tribal beasts? I understand he is still being questioned by station security, and will most likely be released, since he was stopped before he could effect his threat to burn my livelihood down.ö
ôIn closing, I welcome anyone come visit our market. We are completely open, with nothing hidden or behind closed doors. You will find that we hold to the laws and finest standards for slave training and procurement.ö

Ah yes, that old trick. Do or say something totally unamusing then pull out the old "Just kidding!" card. What makes it twice as sweet is when the person who obviously wouldn't recognize funny if it waddled up and honked its nose at them accuses everyone whose reaction has been entirely appropriate of having no sense of humour.
Wacky fun. I call it the "look at me, I'm an idiotic attention junkie" gambit.

So basically, you're selling sex slaves?
I think pretty much all eggers are quite able to walk into a bar and pick up some random piece of ass if they want a night of fun, purely because they're capsuleers.
Why not just be direct, and say you're selling sex slaves rather than trying to dress it up as some fancy bull**** charade?
Edit :
I also just noticed this :

'Even' in the Empire? The Empire has the strictest rules in the cluster regarding sex. If anything I'd say the expression should have been 'even in the Federation'. If any nation were to decide children were allowed to engage in such... Acts it would be them and their 'freedom of choice'.
