Yeah, i didn't want to get into missiles because the current system, especially the new Exodus fly-right-into-without-chasing one, will go. Definately waiting for the missile overhaul.

Anyways, you can't compare the balance of Starcraft and Warcraft to EVE. Those are small scale RTSs with finite units that have only a few stats to them. It is rather easy to do for an RTS as well. EVE on the other hand is an MMOG with thousands of different ships to choose from (ship and equipment configs that is). There will always be one ship that is superior to the others or a ship that appears to be superior or is just the flavor of the month.
You talk about how Blizzard has their act together, perhaps you should judge the balance they have in World of Warcraft.

Projectile weapons don't work and Gallante have a serious lack of Powergrid and Capacitator that drones simply can't make up for...

will people stop calling this a D&D game.
it has some roll play in it but it is far from a D&D
