When in 0.0, and using your system scanner, finding an anomolies, like hubs, sanctums havens, and so on, whats the chance they spawn a faction spawn or drop faction loot... anyone?

CCP have never released any info on the loot tables, or the variables if any.
Anything anyone says will be pure guess work.
From experience it does seem very very random.

there is a chance of Faction spawn/drop. However, it's fairly low.

I spent months waiting and hoping for that special faction spawn when I lived out there, and then on my first day after an Eve break I ran into a faction drone bs that was worth nearly 250 mil in techII salvage (at an anomaly).
My corpmate got one a few days later. Never saw another of such value. And these were low-grade anomalies (where the faction bs turned up afterwards... perhaps for revenge at killing his buddies).
Hang in there! I don't personally think there is much you can do to influence it, but I have to admit that belt-chaining is a work of fiction (please don't kill me forum trolls). You can prevent 'reward' spawns by chaining. You are more likely to get high-value targets by killing every npc you find in a solar system, regardless of their individual value.
Tbh, I don't know if people still chain spawns, haven't been out to 00 in a while. Hope that helps anyway.

they do and they will go all allah u'akbar on you if you tell them it does not increase their chance of a faction spawn but quite the opposite

The point of chaining is not to increase the chance of special (faction, officer, hauler) spawns but to inprove the consistency of the system. If every spawn location has a triple, million ISK BS spawn in it then you're making consistent money. It's not as good as if you get Estamel and she drops her Invuln but it's better than if the system seems to be stuck on battlecruisers. I've never run across anyone who has suggested that chaining increases the chances of Faction spawns. --

chaining decreases
The chance for a factiion spawn is BEST at the break point when all spawns are thorugh and a nice line begins (i.e. triple 1.8m BS spawn -> crap crusier frig spawn] thats why people after faction etc spawns wont chain but rather just kill off.
Concerning CAs I heard the chances was rather big, even as big as 10% but I cant confirm, did CAs alot lately and never had a single Faction spawn

Posting with an alt, but from the number of faction spawns and escalations gained from both low sec and 0.0 I've found the number to be around 10-15% chance of a faction spawn or escalation at the end. Both are possible too. Blitzing the hubs is better for faction spawns and 8/10 plexes than the isk boost you get from the sanctums and havens which take significantly longer to run.
EDIT: 211 anomaly sample size since dominion's release.

If you want a good chance of getting a faction drop, you should probably get out of 0.0 and start skulking around in Jita, Irjunen, Motsu et al. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

I often get faction spawns but I rarely get any drop from them (about 1 in 6 drops anything other than a tag).

I have an interesting story to tell. This happened a long long time ago, I was in a system called Ebo, down in Amarr space. I was ratting in like, a Catalyst or something (0.5) and came across a True Sansha Devourer or something like that. So, it came along with 3 frigate escort. I killed it, it dropped ammo and a tag. Cleared the rest of the belt.
I continued going around in belts in circles and when I came back to the same belt -- it spawned again. Same exact spawn. I killed it, got ammo and a tag, then cleared the rest of the belt.
Went around the belts again, kind of excited. This time it spawned AGAIN. I was like wtf! I killed it and then checked my cargo. Same ammo, tag and piece of normal tech 1 meta loot dropped, three times in a row. Cleared the belt.
Went around again. Didn't spawn this time. I was sad. But it was cool killing the same faction frigate three times in a row :D

I actually been quite surprised in the amount of faction drops/spawns. I used to belt rat for days without seeing a faction rat, now every 10 or so annomolies I can be assured to at least get one.

What kind of hubs though? I know that hidden hubs take forever compared to a forlorn or something. This is in Sansha space of course.

Edited by: Flynn Fetladral on 13/03/2010 11:38:35 I've had a True Sansha battleship spawn in a haven before, it does happen, but like others have said, it's random. Chaining weeds out the crap and make consistent good bounty Battleships for better income. Purging is better for faction / officer spawn chances, but you don't wanna do it in systems where others are Chaining as you screw up their chain.
