Oooooo! I wonder what that could be?!?!
I love RvB. Lots of things to love about it, including 1v1s practically 23/7 if you ask for one in the R-V-B channel, occasional roams out to 0.0/lowsec to see how long it takes to get shredded. I got popped/podded in the 1st 10 seconds last time, so I'm needing some revenge! Pwning the 3rd Party War Targets that stumble in looking for easy kills has to be close to sex in the satisfaction factor. Arranged fleet fights! ARRANGED FLEET FIGHTS! YAAAAAAH! It's a never-ending PvP orgy! ------------------------------------------- REALITY.DAT not found. Rebooting the universe. |

Edited by: Skex Relbore on 24/05/2010 16:22:31 Bumpity battle report.
I had things to do Friday and Saturday nights and I'm a night only player (wife and two small children generally preclude any daytime activity beyond .01 isking market orders)so I missed 2 nights of playing with the associated slippage on the leader boards that such an absence entails.
Finally Sunday night I manage to get online itching for some action.
There aren't any Red Fleets active so I toss up an advert and start gathering folks. Soon Del joins so I pass him Boss so I can go back to slacking :)
At this point we're playing station/gate games with some Blues in local. We know there is a blue fleet in local that's close or a little bigger than ours but so far they've been avoiding direct engagement.
There's a Blue Myrmidon hanging out in Red HQ so I take my Vexor in to try baiting it. The Myrm docks up pretty much instantly though so after playing a few agro games with the Ishkur that's buzzing HQ. I decide to head off from undock figuring that if I can get outside dock up range a blue might be willing to aggress knowing I can't dock up if I get into trouble.
Meanwhile the Red fleet is sitting aligned and ready to warp in.
Sure enough as I get a little range from the station the Myrm is there on top of me. I quickly scram it and start working on him.
My fleet warps to me at zero and starts hammering the Myrm. As the Myrm's tank is crumbling the Blue fleet warps in, but they screwed up the warp in so all but one Retribution comes in at 100 instead of 0 leaving the bulk of their force too close to warp to their fleetmates and too far to assist directly in time.
The Myrm pops and I toss a point on the Retribution. As it gets enough range to slip my point someone else snags it and a few seconds later we get another tasty kill mail. The remainder of the blue fleet warps off so we regroup to move on to more fun.
Now that the blood lust is up we head off to find more victims. One of our scouts spots the Ishkur that had been messing around our HQ on the Varae gate in Alenia, The scout manages to get the Ishkur pilot too aggress and we're all jumping in and warping too him as fast as we can.
Sadly the Ishkur pilot is smart and saw the local spike so he performed a GTFO maneuver as we all landed on grid.
Ok enough random roaming we set course for Allentene, Jump on contact and head to blue HQ to rattle the cages and see if we can get them to come out and play.
We screw around there for a few minute with nothing going on then a Blue FC logs and and we start working together a little fleet action.
We arrange a cruiser/frig fight after some finagling over numbers and Morphe getting back from the Taco stand we end up with like 9v8 cruisers and frigs (ok one dessy but they die so easily should you really count them? ;)
We head over to planet 3 and set up. Then the blues warp in at 50 and things get to moving. First they send their drones in and we start popping them then one of their rifters gets into optimal and the fight begins in earnest.
Once the Rifter pops a rupture is called. I notice I'm way off from the rest of the fleet I really need to work on my spacial awareness. I head back into the fray.
The fight was a bit chaotic with our FC getting popped early then our back up target caller dropping voice, we ended up pretty spread out at one point a primary is called that's liek 50 klicks from me so I just go for a closer target.
Fortunately Blues made more mistakes than we did so Red held the field. Amazingly enough my ship survived notable just based on it's rarity.
We loot up and head back to base. We're losing members to the sleep ninja's so after some hemming hawing and afking we decide to do a Purple Cruiser FFA.
I'm running up against my posting length limit here and I want to be able to do justice to the FFA so I'll post the details on that later for another bump ;-)

Ok so got a little wrapped up in actual work yesterday (boo work) but hey they don't actually pay me to post so I gotta do some now and again.
First I'm going to fulfill my promise of a write up of the Cruiser FFA. Then I'll give a brief battle report of last night activities.
Cruiser FFA RC1.
After the more organized battle the force online isn't really sufficient for more fleet on fleet action so the determination is made it's time for a FFA.
We all head over to the new FFA system that's being established. (new experiment a system designated as a FFA zone where you can take a frig and go shoot at any RVB player regardless of team)
Normally it's restricted to Frigs but for this we go Cruiser.
As usual once people arrive the rules are laid out, prizes announced and start is called.
I'm in my fail fit Thorax figuring I'm likely to be first out. So I pick a close target in this case a Caracal light up the MWD and head for it. once I get in release drones put a tight orbit and start opening up with my blasters. The Caracal pops pretty easily then I'm engaged with a rupture my shields drop pretty fast and then I"m overheating my repper trying to stay alive alas concentrated fire from the Rupy and this brutal Caracal brings my hope of survival to an end.
The fight drags on for a while with the usual shifting aliances and betrayals until it comes down to 2 Vexors and a Arty Rupture.
The Rupture holds off the Vexors for a while shooting their drones and forcing them to pull em back but finally one of the Vexors manages to close on the Rupture and then they pull it down. At this point the Vexors go at it until we have a lone survivor.
1st Cruiser FFA successful.
Battle Report 5/24 US Late night.
I could write a long drawn out battle report on this night starting with my rallying up a red fleet the poping a Blue Vexor that was hanging on our Undock.
Or the subsequent scuffle on the Tourier gate in Alenia.
I could wax eloquently about the initial skirmishes on the Alentene gate and glorious explosions we extracted from our enemies as Blue ships continued to abandon their fleet mates.
I could give a detailed account of how we Reds caught the blues desperately trying to rally up in allentene and describe the ensuing battle that escalated from Frig/Cruiser all the way to BC's and BS.
I could describe the turning tide as one of the new Blue's stepped up and took charge and valiantly lead his fellow corp mates in their effort to defend their system from the red horde.
I could do all that. Or I could just link the Battle Summary
29 ships equaling over 800million isk destroyed in one high sec battle that spanned 2 systems and an hour and a half time.
That's the sort of thing ya'll are missing out on.

Good hunting gentlemen.
Our application process is the easiest in the world.
Open people/places select corporation type Red fed or Blue rep in the search box show info on the corp you want to join choose apply to join put any old nonsense in there (heck leave it all blank it don't really matter) hit send and as soon as someone with the role is online your in. Easy as that.
Now I do suggest doing a couple things to prepare. One pick up a copy of Infomorph psychology and train it up to 2 or 3. Then read this and follow the instructions to make some jump clones (however many you are trained up for. This will allow you to protect your implants if you decide to go on one of our 0.0 roams.
Probably be a good idea to move some ships and modules to the base of which ever corp you want to join so you're prepared.
Then get in a fast frig with an MWD and make insta undocks at both HQ's. If you are particularly motivated you can then go make tactical books marks at each gate linking Tourier and Alentene both sides at at around 200k so you can scout the gates prior to jumping to 0.
A couple other notes. Leave your expensive mission ship behind. You are going to lose ships. My advise is always to consider a ship lost the moment it undocks because more often or not it will be.
at that point put in your app to which ever corp you decided on and once your app clears say hi in corp and see if there are any fleets active.
Get out there be active and have fun.
It's very handy that you have an alt that you can use for logistics because you really don't want to be going around on shopping trips on your combat character.(IOW leave your non-PVP character out of the corp)
Some of the Caldari specced pilots will be able to help you out on your skill plan.
Other than that come on down and get ready to rumble

Just a few tid bits of info, Please join R-V-B channel for any more details.
#1 Once you have left your current corporation, and joined Red or Blue. Your war status will mirror RVB's and your current corporation will have no effect on your status.
#2 Right now both sides can use your help. So just go with your heart on that one. Our fights are just getting better and better as we add more PVP hungry pilots...
#3 Anything T1, is very common to be honest. The most active battles usually include Frigs and Dessies, but Our BC and below fights have been off the hook. Bring and fly what you can afford to lose.
#4 Once you join you will have full access to our forums, in the LORP Forum you will find a detailed breakdown of our conflict. here is the link http://rvb.tech-pc.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=523

Welcome aboard I look forward to shooting at you.
No battle report today since I logged on to the message saying servers were coming down in like 40 minutes.
Damn you CCP how am I supposed to maintain my position on the leaderboards if you patch during my play time!
Oh well hopefully the initial buginess of the expansion will prevent the day crew from stealing another march on me ;)

Damn page 7 time to stick this back up.
So Patch day glorious Patch day as usual patch day caused much chaos and confusion.
Since CCP and Vivox managed to jack up EVE Voice again and both teams tend to use that for Comms things were very disorganized when I got on.
Anyway the guy who got me started in this game was online and we were both on my vent server so we had comms, He reported a rifter on undock I came out with a rifter of my own. The Blue rifter was sitting a couple hundred K above the base so I warped to my handy tactical above the base and started heading towards the him.
He's closing too when I realize that this is my experimental fleet fit supersheild Rifter with no scram. Well there ain't no POINT to fighting like that so I dock up and swap the Invu II out for a scram and head back out.
Couple minutes of cat and mouse and we're back in the same position above base. this time I got a point and we're going to do this thing.
We close and start going at it. The shield fit is working nicely as I carve through the Blue's shields then armor, Sadly at this point the disadvantage of a shield rifter comes up as the Blue starts gaining range. My backup arrives on field only to realize that he's forgot to put bullets in his guns. The Blue manages to slip my point and escape just as damage starts bleeding into his structure. Oh well GF to local and commend his escape.
At this point a Blue Vexor shows up on station grid and not being completely suicidal I dock up and grab my own, undock and head off to a safe.
Rexor stays to bait in his Merlin eventually one of the Blues take the bait and I warp to the battle put a point on the Enemy Vexor, release my little buddies and start wearing him down. About the time he pops a couple more enemy cruisers show up on station so I boogie back to my safe.
This sort of thing continues as I start trying to rally people into the fleet passing out my Vent server IP so we can get some voice coms up.
A call is given that there are a couple blues on the Merolles gate so I head over in my trusty Vexor while in warp the guy who called the hostiles announces the trap so I jump on through swarm of blues then go to the station in Merolles where I spend a little time working to get the fleet organized and some guys on coms.
Finally we're getting some folks in Vent so I decide to see if I can make it back to base to rally up. I jump through the Merolles gate to Tourier into a cloud of Blues, I try to warp but they got a point on me.
Fleets not quite in position to help, so I target a rifter figuring if I'm gonna die I'm taking one of them with me. The rifter pops then I pop and head back to base to get another ship.
Now we're kind of organized, we rally up and head to Merolles, We manage to catch a Taranis on the gate who thought he was going to get one of our Merlins, then it's off to Alentene.
We set up on the Alentene/Meroles gate and play for a while we engage a blue Rupture who manages to slip point deep in structure (darn).
Then the blues come at us with several cruisers They manage to pop 1 of our merlins and a Caracal in exchange we take one of their Vexors.
A couple of our pilots popped an Ishkur while returning w/ new ships.
A few minutes of regrouping and we send a merlin to their undock and manage to agress an arbitrator which was then exchanged for another Merlin.
Guess the blues took offense at our making a mess on their undock and brought out a hype and several BCs/cruisers we boogie out and give them the field.
We see a couple of them head off to a safe so we get our prober into fleet probe them down and take out another Caracal and teach them not to rally quite so close to their base.
Pretty fun night despite the comm issues we managed to take out 4 cruisers 2 assault frigs and a T1 Frig in exchange for 3 cruisers and 3 frigs and had a blast doing it.
So I ask again whatcha waiting for? Join R-V-B and come on down

*I believe that if you leave a corp at war, you are no longer involved in the war. War is declared on corporations not players. Not that we care, the more targets the better!
*Drop by the RVB public chat and ask, it fluctuates based on timezone and latest recruiting.
*Mostly t1 frigates and cruisers. But BC's and BS's get undocked in from time to time as well. You'll also see the odd assortment of various t2 ships, but not as often.
*Not sure on the last one, but maybe when you drop by the public room someone can help you out with that!
FOR THE TEAPOT! *EDIT* Spelling and grammar

Bumpity bump bump bump
Battle report 5/27
I had a dental appointment yesterday so I had a half a day off afterwards which I used to get a little flight time in.
So after making some quick market adjustments to try to keep the isk incoming I log on and x up for a fleet. I got on right after an arranged flight and the FC anounces that Blue's need like 30 minutes to get their s*$t together so he wants to do a Frig FFA.
Well even though I've had less than stellar luck in those so far, they have been a ton of fun so I hop in an active tanked punisher I have ready and undock. Once I'm on grid I realize that I forgot to stick a cap booster on it so I stop and prepare to redock.
Then I remember this little Rifter fit I'd come up with for this that I wanted to try so instead of getting a booster I picked up my supershield tanked rifter and head off to the battleground.
As usual the rules are read "stay with in 60 klicks of the can, Don't target until the go call don't pod don't come back and clutter up the battle field with your newb ship to get your stuff and so forth.
This time I've got a new plan so I set a 30k orbit off the can that marks the center of the field and wait for the call.
The call is given and I put my plan into action which is pretty simple in it's basis. Don't target anyone until they start to target me. and let people kill each other off to clear the field a bit.
After the battle is called a Rifter pilot decides to target me so I return the favor close and engage. This guys getting shot by another Rifter and between the two of us the first target melts (A small fitting lesson here buffer extension rigs are percentage based and are rather useless unless there is some buffer to extend)
Once the first Rifter pops I engage the one that helped me kill it. This second of my victims was already heavily damaged by a previous engagement so he went down pretty quickly.
Ok so 2 down and the field has shrunk down significantly by this point between various deaths and a one pilot flying outside the engagement bounder it comes down to me and the Red Fed CEO and we start working on each other.
It's a very even match up his tanky Punisher with a seemingly endless supply of cap boosters and my passive shield Rifter we fly around for a while trying to figure out a way to best the other until the ref finally decides he wants a winner and calls in the pilot who'd went out of range to help break the tie.
We reset (I snatch some extra ammo out of a wreck) then the go is called again. The pilot who was let back in is in a MWD fit rifter allowing him to stay outside the range of Morphe and I and the two of us are still pretty much evenly matched and it's going to come down to who the extra pilot breaks after first.
Finally the other rifter stops buzzing around and comes in hard at me stripping my tank down almost instantly between the sustained fire. At this point I know I'm going down so I overheat everything and pump as much damage as I can into the Rifter.
Boom the extra Rifter pops and it's back down to me and Morphe. But now I have no shields my armor is gone and I'm deep into structure so I set a course away and try to gain some range to get my shields back up.
Alas it is not to be my moment of victory Even though I manage to get a few % of shield back my AB burns out and I turn into a sitting duck to the MWD fit punisher which finally manages to deliver the death blow to my ship.
Some of the best fun I've had yet and the experience really showcased how much my skills have improved in the month I've been with RVB.
Also I know next time I'm in a situation like that not to fly in a straight line but to zig zag to keep traversal high.
And that was just like an hour of my time flying yesterday. Then there were the multiple fleet fights I got into during my normal play time. All told I got in on 23 kills at the cost of 3 ships lost and even did a little primary calling. I'll try to do a writeup on it later

Still need FC's as we are growing daily, with every new group of pilots we hope to put another commander in front of them to lead them into battle.
We have guys ready and willing to fly into danger, take em ouT vs red to spank that ruby bootamus, take em out in a free roam looking for ganks, or fly em deep into 0.0 -- The truth is we have guys that want to get fights anyway they can get em.
