Are you referring to the director's cut version where they include all of the scenes they deleted in the theatre version?
If so, yes, it's awesome. -Wrayeth n00b Extraordinaire "Look, pa! I just contributed absolutely nothing to this thread!" |

Beats the hell out of me. I've always found it kinda really boring and lame.

Agree. I've tried watching it on multiple occassions and just end up... not caring 30 minutes in.
Schindler's List.
What a relief... I thought it was just me being weird for falling asleep trying to watch this movie... I gave up after the third time...

The Directors Cut version is close but still censored/rated.
You know if you have the correct version if you check Ripley's nightmare in the spacestation at the start. If you can see the alien poking out of her chest and not only a big blood stain then you have the correct one.
I have only seen that version once and that was a bootleg VHS from Hong Kong.

Memento.
WAsnt much wrong with blade runner, and the fuss about it was it was the first movie remotely like it i guess. Now youve all been spoilt by newer stuff which heavily 'borrows' from it you just dont notice anymore. Dark Dark Dark Movie.

Tough ask but here goes..
Glengarry Glen Ross. Intimate enemies. Bladerunner (if you're a sci-fi fan). Zulu, come on who cant love that film (but why us sergeant, why us? because we're here son and there's nobody else). Dangerous liaisons. The Italian Job (original). District 9, showing Avatar that you don't need to be an over bloated, hackneyed piece of technical wizardry to make good sci-fi. Taxi Driver (probably de Niros best performance). Dog day afternoon. Millers crossing, in fact anything by the Coen brothers. Godfather 1+2. 7th seal (Ingmar Bergman).
There's way too many good movies to see before you die, in fact I could spend so much time listing them I might die before I'm done.

Here is a list to start with and this is by far not even close to comprehensive. Mostly movies from creators not from the US which makes it a very good resource for those of us that do not get a regular dose of foriegn cinema.

I'd have to go with a number of films;
Oldboy (might as well go through the whole Vengeance trilogy while you're at it) Enemy At The Gates Metropolis Ginger Snaps (I'd say do the first two films, but not the third) Chocolate Serenity (watch the Firefly series while you're at it) Dr. Strangelove Red River (one of the only westerns I enjoy)

Some brilliant suggestions.
Moon, American History X and Letters from Iwo Jima being 3 of the best.
Add to those Arlington Road and Dogville and your life is complete.
