So, here's a story for you.
I was browsing the bazaar one day when I notice this toon (http://eveboard.com/pilot/The_Supremacy) going cheap. I think it's a bargain so I pick it up for a reasonable price and log on to cruise around space like a boss. Then out of nowhere some guy called Selest Cayal contacts me and says he wants to be my friend. Everyone needs friends and I look up who he is and it turns out that he's actually in charge of Raiden. and wants to talk to me about running his campaigns. Naturally I was very flattered. Raiden. are renowned for their competence and here they were inviting me to FC their super fleet, I'm not sure why they picked me but I'm glad to have my potential appreciated. I've always felt that I'd be capable of running an alliance like Raiden. so it made me feel good deep inside to have the guy in charge of Raiden. telling me that he felt the same way.
I told him I'd need some time to think it through because I wasn't all that active and he was very understanding about it. He told me he'd keep me informed about all his ideas and the developments with the campaign he was planning which I thought was really friendly and that if I wanted to get involved I only had to ask. However I wasn't sure if I was ready to take over the leadership of a major alliance quite yet, despite being pressured, as I had no experience at it and it seemed a lot of work. Still, it was an incredibly generous offer to make to a stranger and I was grateful for the trust they placed in me.
For two weeks things settled down until one day I got a very attractive offer for the character (The Supremacy) so I agreed to sell it. After logging on to clear the assets I saw Mr Selest online and thought I'd have one last chat. We talked about his still open offer for me to take charge of Raiden. but I explained how I was burned out and not playing eve as much as I used to. I was tempted to take over the alliance but the offer for the character was very attractive and he'd already sent isk.
Then Selest found the topic on the character bazaar in which The Supremacy was sold, something I'm sure he was aware of previously anyway. He asked me a number of vague questions and I explained that I was indeed selling the character. He then suggested that I put an alt into his corp in Raiden. which I felt was a very generous solution to the problem, allowing me to sell Supremacy while still staying in contact with my new friend Selest who was nothing but giving and trusting with me. I was therefore invited to join NEXE on this character and immediately given roles with only Selest knowing that I was, before I sold the character, the owner of The Supremacy.
I hung out with him on teamspeak for a while talking about things such as "did your nation change?" and "did your voice change?" although he soon stopped asking such silly questions and returned to the giving of roles, passwords and intel. This was obviously appreciated and necessary if I was to be rapidly brought up to speed as the new leader of Raiden., an offer I was gradually warming to. He explained how he had finals and that he thought I would be more than capable (which I thought was odd given my lack of experience) but I didn't like to question it. We discussed our pending deployment to Delve, our broader plans and made small talk and I thought I was really making a friend in EVE, despite not having known him for very long.
Anyway, I log on today and he's suddenly and inexplicably cold to me and no longer wants me to lead Raiden. I think this is bullshit because it was his idea in the first place, you can't invite a guy to take over your alliance and then after spending days talking him into it and inviting him into your alliance and giving him roles suddenly start treating him like he's a total stranger. I don't know why he's being so mean to me, I didn't approach him, he approached me. I was really looking forward to commanding the Raiden. super fleet but I don't think that's still on the cards. :( I know there are a lot of goon recruitment scam topics in here but I think what Raiden. did to me is way, way worse. Goons just take isk and then ignore guys but Selest acted like we were friends and he built up my hopes and he got me into the corp and gave me roles only to suddenly start ignoring me. That's way worse in my opinion, a real **** move. I didn't lose any assets or anything and in fact turned a 7b profit on the whole situation but that's not the point. They toyed with my emotions, I was okay just being a small time drake pilot but he came to me and when I was reluctant he talked me into it only to kick me out. I'm still in corp for now but my forum account (directors forum access) has been banned and my roles have been taken away and nobody is telling me why. :(
TLDR: If the leader of Raiden. convos you out of the blue and offers to make you in charge of Raiden. you'll only get your heart broken, it's a scam. |

As a relatively insignificant player in this game I thought it was my big chance to make a difference and prove my worth but after just a day of being Raiden. leadership they took it from me. Awwww. Abloobloobloo. Please be sure to bottle those tears. They are too delicious to go to waste in a nasty little kleenex.
Seriously though, Raiden has been a failscading alliance ever since they lost most of their sov. I'm thinking that their deployment to Delve is a last ditch attempt at trying to seem relevant.
Anyways, what do you really expect? First thing, you should've known you were dealing with a total and complete idiot if he invites a total stranger, gives him a crap ton of very dangerous roles right off the bat, and offers you a leadership position in the alliance. I would suggest punishing him for being such a moron by running off with every last thing you can get your hands on...if for no other reason than Raiden is now an utter failure and that they have crap leadership who hands roles over to people like it was candy. You could also use the excuse that he hurt your feelings, too :) The Sandbox = Play however the hell you want. |

Something's missing here. It's not often someone would, out of the blue, bring anyone in to FC or lead an alliance. In fact, that'd be somewhat akin to a person walking up to random Joe Schmuckatelli and going "Hey! You want to run General Motors?"
I'm curious what the other half of the story is. A few things are kinda popping up that draw questions. Remarks about nationality and voice changing, things of that nature. Perhaps this person had interactions with Supreme prior to you owning it and lo and behold you are not that person?
I don't know.
I'm curious what Raiden's end of this is.
Or, maybe everyone's just insane and you got hammered by a lunatic emotionally. |

I just took a look at The Supremacy's employment history and it turns out that he was actually in Raiden. before. Do you think it is possible that Selest may have invited me into his alliance, given me roles, given me director forum access on their forums, given me the password to their ts, let me participate in planning his campaigns, offered to let me command the Raiden. super fleet and propose that I take over the alliance thinking that I was actually somebody else? Maybe it's all a big misunderstanding. |

I'd never have stolen from Selest, he was nothing but friendly to me when he convoed me out of the blue and started giving me access to things. I thought we were friends and that meant a lot to me. It's not until he suddenly betrayed me and banned me and took my roles that I realised that our friendship was just a joke to him. All I could do then was warn other people on the forums about his duplicity. |

Breakups are hard man...especially when you get so used to the bro-sex.
If this all true, I can't imagine that anyone would wonder why Raiden failed so hard. Their leadership can't even do a semi-decent sec check to see if their old-bro's accounts have been sold before handing them the keys to the castle! The Sandbox = Play however the hell you want. |

That should've raised a couple of red flags right away. People move to other countries all the time and no one ever questions them about their 'nationality change'. You don't really need 'friends' who can be described by a 4 letter word that starts with 'n'. Don't get me started about the voice change either. What if you catch some illness, like a flu that'll make your voice coarse or even worse, an Immune System Disorder(ISD) which could make you permanently speechless? |

Read that bit again.
Not a huge corp-theft as such things go, but the (I think) deliberately overdone "But I'm the victim!" tone adds a playful, sarcastic absurdity to the OP that I find amusing. Plus anything that hurts nullsec neckbeard pixel-egomaniacs--especially the stupid ones, like there's any other kind--is axiomatically a good thing, sooo...
