Hi
I am a rookie and I am interested in factional warfare. I would like to ask you which race should I choose, Minmatar or Caldari? I have heard Amarr isn't a good choice and Gallente are out of the question for me.

Amarr are actually not a particularly bad choice if you like the roleplay, there's some pretty excellent corporations there like PIE Inc, but you have to ask yourself whether you want to play on what's currently the losing side of that war. Minmatar are winning and there are quite a lot of good corporations, but I will warn you they do have some internal squabbles. All of the good corps in Caldari - F-TK, 22ND, CAIN, etc. - left either six months or two weeks ago. It's kind of disorganised right now. Looking at your standings it seems the very marginally quicker and easier route would be to go Minmatar (given that you've already got tiny positive standings with them) and there are quite a few corps there I know that'd love a 1-year-old pilot with few strings attached. Why don't you want to join Gallente, by the way?
Generally though I'd advise avoiding the militia altogether. It's not all it's cut out to be.

Its better to be on the 'losing' side of the war TBH. Far more fun to be had. Unless you like flying around in giant blobs and not killing much.

FW is great. I fly for Amarr and have a great time. I never flew for another militia so can't speak from experience. But I imagine its about the same.

I got already a Caldari with 0.43 standing (0.5 is the minimum standing to join FW) But I don't know which side I should choose.
Why don't you want to join Gallente, by the way?

Matar militia is a waste of time, it has 1000 more members yet 100-200 less kills a day.
Usually in a face-to-face fight outnumbered 2:1 or 3:1 the Amarr will still win.
Thus Matar FCs only like blobs and their blobs are starved of targets as the Amarr fly loops around them.
If you want to constantly rush jumps in the hope of being the last person on a single gank then go for it.

FW is great, except for one thing: The hurf durf role playing chest beating. I regard it as a fun way to get fights and still maintain sec standings, but I envy the pirates sometimes who are willing to forgo all of that fluffy stuff and just shoot whatever they want whenever they want.

If u want to learn from good solo and small scale skirmish experts, join amarr.
If u want to hide behind blobs and are more the 'wanna avoid 1v1' kind of guy, join minmatar.

Caldari is starting to pick up again, fleets aren't so hard to come by anymore. There is however a slight issue with internal militia struggles which is throwing things way off. Otherwise the trajectory would be fairly positive in regards to activity organization and fleets.

If you join Minmatar Militia you'll have to deal with the Pirate blob in Amamake frequently, and we're not blue to any pirate groups. Also there are several pirates with Alts in the Milita so that just makes things worse.

Militias go in cycles, where one side gets stronger and crushes the other, then the winners get bored and leave for 0.0, in the mean time the losers reorganize and get back in forces and slowly become the new winners (that will get bored and leave for 0.0)...

Don't join FW. It is so bug-ridden as to compete with a medieval ***** in a coastal city. Exploit Wars ceased to be something that can be recommended a long time ago.
Find a pirate corporation operating in the area yo want to live in, much better PvP opportunities and none of the stupidity.
For extra flavour join a pirate corp living in a FW area, the militias and the war may be crap, but there are some excellent pilots around that will teach you more by killing you in odd ways than you can learn in years reading.

In general yes ... but Caldari cycles are now kinda irregular ... or maybe longer/diferent from the Amar/Minmatar ... and Caldari/Gal militia has vets who has been there for years now ;)

Other than roleplaying, what it comes down to is one of two choices.
Do you like having lots of targets to shoot at/fighting against difficult odds? Then join the Caldari side.
If you like getting kills the easy way, by being in bigger blobs and cap ship support, then join the Gallente side.
As Hidden Snake said, there are cycles and pre-dominion Caldari militia was "winning" FW if that is even possible.
Now Gallente are "winning" FW.
A month or two from now things could be the reverse again. All it potentially takes is 1 good corp joining the Caldari side to shift the balance again.
